Fondi is my ancestral town.
Fondi is my ancestral town. My mother and paternal grandmother come from Fondi. It is a lovely, small, friendly town, just loaded with ancient history. The best way to learn about a country, is to get to see how the locals live. It is the best experience. Fondi is older than Rome itself. It was a main town on the Via Appia, and the top wine producer favored by the emperors of Rome. Livia, wife of emperor Augustus was from Fondi. It sits in a plain at the foot of the Aurunci mountains, and the ocean. It is 15 minutes away from some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. Rome and Naples are a train ride away from Fondi. Fondi is a lively functioning town with all the faculties of a big city but the coziness of a village. It is close to both Rome and Naples for day trips. It is semi tropical and has lush vegetation and incredible fruits, vegetables and the fresh fish of course.Guest review byBagazzoli

It was a lovely and spacious roof top apartment with mountain views in the old town of Fondi. The kitchen was well equipped and we could easily cook there. Titti was very helpful and we felt welcome. I warmly recommend her holiday apartments. Also the beach town of Sperlonga is close, there is a bus connection there not far from the apartment.Guest review byLauraFinland
