Fondi is my ancestral town.
Fondi is my ancestral town. My mother and paternal grandmother come from Fondi. It is a lovely, small, friendly town, just loaded with ancient history. The best way to learn about a country, is to get to see how the locals live. It is the best experience. Fondi is older than Rome itself. It was a main town on the Via Appia, and the top wine producer favored by the emperors of Rome. Livia, wife of emperor Augustus was from Fondi. It sits in a plain at the foot of the Aurunci mountains, and the ocean. It is 15 minutes away from some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. Rome and Naples are a train ride away from Fondi.
