Giarre and neighbouring Riposto are unspoilt small towns with few tourists. We were the only foreigners wherever we ate. La Tavernetta was our favourite. The seafood market in Riposto was a perfect source for the meals we cooked in our suite. Driving in Sicily is fun as long as you copy the locals. It's a small town by the sea...
It's a small town by the sea... It's not very "touristy" but it's a perfect base to visit Taormina, the etna, Catania. Overall I would say it's more convenient then charming! Giarre is not a great tourist attraction.
Giarre is not a great tourist attraction. However it is a great center for touring East Sicily. We found it very strange that Sicilians keep to their siesta even in winter. After sunset when it got very dark and a bit cold, we did not feel like going to a restaurant (they open at 6 or 7). So we cooked our dinners. Good for us, bad for them.Guest review byCsabaHungary

You have a splendid view on the vulcano from the terrace on the roof of the B&B. The sea is nearby, the beach is nice (2 km walk). Salvatore is a great host. There was Limoncello and delicious cannoli to welcome us. At the breakfast he serves great pistache croissants. The rooms as well as the facilities are fantastic and the staff is great. The hotel spa was amazing and the massages was one of the best I’ve ever had. Breakfast was delicious, but the Michelin restaurant (dinner) was not for me. I was a little bit disappointed but taste is very personal so…😊 I would recommend guests staying here to have a car as the location is kind of remote.
