Excellent place to stay while visiting Liguria. Picturesque, not too many tourists around at the end of September. Easy journey on the boat to Cinqueterre, frequent buses to the train station in La Spezia or 30 euro taxi. Good sandy beaches, free and pay ones. Lerici is not the most beautiful place to stay at the Italian coast, but it is near beautiful villages. The center is outdated and a bit shabby with low to medium quality restaurants. But it is great to take a boat trip and cool down on the sea. Parking is difficult, so make sure you have arranged that with the hotel. We had to park 10min walk from the hotel. The historic part of Lerici, even though it was not high season, was clean and tidy, although there were construction works on the promenade. Plenty of places to eat in this part of town, bars, restaurants, etc. Just a shame I didn't find a artisan bakery with baguettes and croissants and other bakery goodies. Lerici is a very nice place at the southern end of the Gulf of La Spezia. Nice old town and nice hotels along the beach. If you visit try to book a room with a seaview.
