Having spent 311 nights in Limone you must understand that we like it and the surrounding north Lake Garda area. Last year it was selected as the most superb flower decorated town in Italy and at the international competition won the top five 'petals' in it's category of small resorts. The winter population is 1200 people but usually busy with visitors from the end of April till mid October. The only criticism this year is that I detected a cigarette end on some steps! The village is a lovely place but it shuts down for autumn.
The village is a lovely place but it shuts down for autumn. When we were there in early November there were no restaurants open, just a couple of cafes during the weekend daytimes. The accommodation has a hob so we cooked for ourselves one night. There were many restaurants open in Riva del Garda, 10k away, but a lot of them were closing for the following six weeks until Christmas. Don't forget your swimming gear; we went for a swim in the lake one morning. I loved Limone Sul Garda; it was beautiful!
I loved Limone Sul Garda; it was beautiful! However, be very aware of the terrain. You may reconsider if moving up and down steep hills and steps is difficult. The city has a wonderful location by the lake Garda and offers exceptional conditions for bikers and water sports fans. The bike path guarantees unforgettable panoramic views on the beautiful lake. The city provides intimate atmosphere and is recommended when you want to relax and admire the views, especially when your are exhausted after a day spent cycling, swimming or doing antything tiresome.
