We came here two years ago and spent 4 days after travelling...
We came here two years ago and spent 4 days after travelling for over 12 days through France and Italy by car from.the UK. Both times at the end of Season end of Sept early October. Not too hot but like a sensible English summertime. This time we were here a little longer, we flew into Florence and after a few days there hired a car and switched to "avoid motorways" on our sat nav, this took us to Siena through the Tuscany vineyards and stopping at the beautiful village of Castilla di Chianti we ventured on to and stopped in Siena, then onto Piombino port to get the 1 hour ferry to Elba Island. You can fly into Pisa and train to Piombino port in about 90 minutes. But driving through Tuscany was fantastic. This time on Elba we took our time, explored a little with the car, Marciana Marina 22 minutes north of Marina di Campo is a beautiful harbour town, my wife wanted to visit it a second time before we left the island. The coastal road has many villages and towns, but Marina di Campo has the best 1.8km beach. Poggio on top of the hill has a nice view out to sea as somewhere to stop for lunch. There is a warm welcome everywhere on this Island. We went on a 6hr fishing trip from Marina di Campo, which included, reeling in fish, a very lovely lunch with the other travellers and the crew, a swim off the boat in a secluded cove and some very lovely company. Basic, but worth every minute, we will both do this again for sure and we are not really into fishing. Car, scooters and cycle hire is available on the Island.Guest review byAnonymous

Our partial Seaview room had nice views & the balcony was useful for drying towels. Needed because only one beach towel provided for our 3 days. The complimentary beach bag provided was useful & nice souvenir of trip. Complimentary use of bicycles. Restaurants & shops a short walk along quiet beachfront lane separating hotel from beach.
