There's not much to do here in winter.

Great place, we liked all the restaurants we went to and our hotel Excelsior was great ! We had outstanding service at Bagno Maria Pia during the day and we loved Ristorante La Carretta at night (for dinner). The beach (Bagno Maria Pia ) was nice and clean and the owners of the restaurant treated us like their family . We also liked a lot pizza at Sayonara . Catch a bus to Massa station, and from there a train to Pisa...
Catch a bus to Massa station, and from there a train to Pisa, or Florence, or Luca, or La Spezia. From La Spezia catch the Cinque Terre train. There are lots of eating places. Marina di Massa is really nice, but maybe not the best...
Marina di Massa is really nice, but maybe not the best destination for people round they 40ies :) Lot's of teens and families, kids... For 1 day/night really nice. Don't expect the standard of German hotels, but more like a summer camp for scouts. This place is for people on a budget, but the staff was above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
