This is a nice hotel with very friendly staff but located in a residential area that had seen better days. All the beaches had volcanic sand which isn't pleasant to walk on or lay on. Our hotel was placed in between Mascali and Riposto. We never went to Mascali but to Riposto. It’s old and run down. Whole town appears to close for siesta - check times before visiting. There is a faded charm to the town and a good long beach with some decent restaurants. He gave us a hearthy welcome and helped us to book our trip to visit the top of the Etna (which you can also see from the pool - lovely view). His kindness didnt stop there as he also arranged a diner at a local restaurant and gave us a drive to there. Besides the amazing host, the hotel is beautiful as well. Its well maintained, clean and you can see the effort they put in every day to make it look wonderful. Great pool and a nice garden. Amazingly nice and open owners that will help you with everything and make you feel like home. Very comfortable apartments with all equipment needed. During our stay, the train was on strike, so the hotel owner drove us to Taormina in his car.
