Renowned as the world’s fashion and design capital, Milan is never short on places to see and things to experience. The stunning architecture of the Duomo di Milano and the famous La Scala theatre are just a few of the city’s breath-taking attractions. For a more intimate adventure, the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie with Leonardo da Vinci's “Last Supper” lets you view a masterpiece from Italy’s past.

Visit the FieraMilano and Salone del Mobile, among the world’s largest and most prestigious furniture and design fairs or have a stroll in the Quadrilatero Della Moda district to admire unique creations from the most famous Italian fashion brands: Gucci, Versace, Armani, Prada or Dolce & Gabbana.

The Navigli and Porta Romana districts are famed for restaurants and bars serving delicious Lombard cuisine and the very popular aperitivo. Make sure you try sweet delicacies at the chic Caffé Cova, founded in 1817, or another historical café, Zucca, in the Galleria.

Milan is a vibrant, clean, and safe city.

Milan is a vibrant, clean, and safe city. It offers fascinating places to visit such as the Museum of Science and Art, magnificent churches like the Cathedral, world-class fashion stores including Gucci and Givenchy, and Michelin-tipe restaurants like Savini at the Duomo. There was still so much I didn’t have time to see and do, which leaves me eager to return to this charming city.

We have travelled before to Italy 9 years back when we covered Venice, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Amalfi Coast and Isle of Capri. Compared to these places Milan rates a very poor second. The Duomo is indeed a magnificent piece of architecture but to negotiate thru the building requires one to negotiate some 100 steps on the way down from the terrace. Not for people with weak knees which unfortunately my wife had. Thankfully there was an elevator to take us up. The biggest problem however was moving from point to point within the city. Being old we like to use taxis as it is usually the quickest way to get to your destination and we do not like to schlepp around in circuitous public transport. Getting a taxi from the city was a very bad experience. I used the Uber app but the ride got cancelled thrice. I contacted the on call taxi service but the operators could only speak Italian or very little English. On one occasion we had to eventually walk back to our hotel and on the other we were lucky to catch a taxi just as it had ended its ride. I would not recommend Milan to old tourists on their own unless their local logistics is taken care of in advance.

The city was beautifully clean and I found the people extremely friendly and welcoming. The city is quite spread out but the metro is extremely efficient and easy to understand.. Announcements in English as well which is a bonus. As well as the obvious attractions around Duomo I also recommend a visit to the San Siro, Navigli, Sforza Castle, the beautiful Sempione Park and Brera.

Milan is usually a great city to visit but this trip was complicated by strikes and demonstrations - something that can happen anywhere of course but it does mess up the travel plans at times. Best to just shrug and find a good place for a coffee!

Milan is a cosmopolitan city with many cultural offerings. Its people are welcoming, informative and eager to share its past. Subway trains are very easy to navigate. The city is very walkable. It has excellent dining especially in the surrounding neighborhoods. Shy away from those close to the Duomo areas, as they are over priced and poor quality.

The Naviglio canal area has a cool vibe, a must for night goers, and just a short walk to the Vittorio Emanuelle shopping area and the Duomo, the Duomo was beautiful but quite expensive to go on the roof , but a must when in Milan, flat shoes necessary as streets cobbled

This hotel was ideally located, just far enough out to offer a peaceful atmosphere, yet still close to the city centre. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. It was perfectly situated for easy access from the airport and made getting to the train station simple as well. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and overall the hotel provided a relaxing and pleasant experience. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Milan, especially if you're looking for a well-connected and comfortable base.

The hotel is located very close (few minutes walk) to the central railway station and provides an ideal location for those arriving or departing Milan by rail or plane (Malpensa). Similarly, it is only 30 minutes walk from the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A contemporary property. The standard of the room was high (well above average compared to similar priced properties).

The apartment was amazing and very clean. It's perfect for two travellers and the facilities were amazing! We lost our hotel on the day we got to Milan and the luxurious apartment staff were really helpful and kind despite us booking very last minute. It's a very decent price for being so close to the city centre and I will definitely book it again if I come back to Milan.

Nice hotel in a good location for where we were visiting in Milan. Short walk to the tram or strain station for easy access into the city centre. Safe covered parking for our hire car which was great. Very friendly staff and nice comfortable bed with good facilities in the room. The staff at the bar were great also.
