A very clean, comfortable, and cozy hotel. In the morning, you can wake up to the delightful smell of freshly baked croissants. The croissants baked by Mattes & Nicola are the best I’ve ever had in my life. The location is very convenient, with a large supermarket nearby and many restaurants to choose from.     I stopped in Milan for two days on the way to a hiking trip in the Alps, and I'm glad I did. It is a comfortable city to visit with some spectacular attractions. Fascinating to me were the Duomo di Milano (the big cathedral constructed between 1386 and 2025), and the Castello Sforzesco, a magnificent medieval-Renaissance fortress located in the heart of Milan at Piazza Castello. Initially built in the 15th century by Duke Francesco Sforza atop a 14th-century fortification, it has evolved into one of Europe’s most iconic citadels. Today, the castle houses several museums and cultural institutions, including: Museum of Ancient Art Picture Gallery Museum of Musical Instruments Museum of the Pietà Rondanini, featuring Michelangelo’s final sculpture The famed Sala delle Asse, frescoed by Leonardo da Vinci

    Milan can be explored in a day in terms of tourist activities etc. Lake Como, Varenna and Bellagio etc can also be a day trip so overall l’d suggest a full 3 days to be sufficient time spent in Milan and Lake Como area. My favourite was Varenna, absolutely beautiful area, specifically the gardens that have the “Gateway to Heaven”. So picturesque and worth the visit.

    We really enjoyed our time in Milan.

    We really enjoyed our time in Milan. The highlights for us were the less touristy places such as the incredible "Cimitero Monumentale" cemetery and the Nove Cento art gallery beside the Duomo. We also really enjoyed the architecture of the Fondazione Prada and the stunning frescoed interiors of Chiesa de San Maurizio al Monastero del Maggiore. Of course the roof terraces of the Duomo are not be missed.

    the hotel was fabulous.

    the hotel was fabulous. It was well located and the room and bathroom were both spacious. Staff was very nice. the Duomo was a 3 minute walk away. The castle was a bit further but still walkable. The restaurant, Paper Moon is well worth the visit. We would go back to Milan in a heartbeat.

    There’s great stuff in Milan, but don’t come here expecting...

    There’s great stuff in Milan, but don’t come here expecting it to be Rome or Venice. You can probably see all the major tourist sites in a day or so. Fantastic selection of gluten free options (Bazac a huge highlight). Consider using this as a base for trips to Varenna and Como. As with Italy in general, taxis are expensive and if you use Uber you’ll have to use Uber Black. This can add up quickly.

    Good transport links and loads to see and do. The castle was fantastic. Bring your walking shoes to see it, it was huge. Coffee in front of the Duomo was wildly wildly overpriced, but La Magolfa restaurant in Navigli made up for it by being so cheap for such a wonderful meal.
