sweet room in a typical Italian romantic look in a great location. even had a little terrace. great breakfast lovingly prepared, served on a rooftop filled with lemon trees. friendly and always smiling staff that do all to make your stay memorable. I booked the hotel only one day inadvance as a pre-birthday surprise for my husband. asked if the hotel would be able to put a simple card in the room with happy birthday on it, and was touched to see they added extras as well. The entire feeling of the hotel is like you are not only a guest but a welcome one!

The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom had everything that you need: shampoo, shower gel, soap, towels, hairdryer. The room was close to the supermarket and to the beach. The host was really helpful and gave a lot of details.

Stefano is one of the best hosts I’ve come across! The place is easily accessible from the train station and Stefano is very responsive and gives detailed instructions. The place is clean and well maintained.

Truly fantastic place, amazing and very helpful host that picked us up from the station and drove us up to the station. Local products offered for free as breakfast. There is really nothing that could have been done better. If you are able to climb those 170 stairs then this place has everything you need for holiday in Monterosso.

    Secluded private garden location just minutes from the beach and the Gigante statue in the new town, nestled under old growth trees in a light filled greenhouse glass addition to an historical building. Sun Light yet private. Equipped with dishwasher and washer/dryer(a bonus for travelers) and the lack of towels. Bring extra charging stations. Outlets are sparing in each room. Non the less, this one is a find. I'd return.

    The biggest (?)

    The biggest (?) of the Cinque Terre towns with far more to do and see than the others. Confusingly split into two, connected by a pedestrian tunnel. The only downside was that weather conditions stopped the ferries (and boat trips) running.

    A great location - across the road from the beach

    A great location - across the road from the beach the best village to choose to stay in - in my opinion as it has more room to move around freely when the day visitors come also. Rooms with ocean view have a top view and small balcony to enjoy it on a good breakfast on offer also.

    Quaint village in a series of 5 well connected villages. Easy access by train. Amazing walks betwen villages. Warm sea to swim in. Food became a bit one dimensional. Pizza and pasta. If you don’t eat pork and shell fish then you eat a mountain of carbohydrates. We longed for something fresh. Overall a fantastic place steeped in history and Italian culture. Well worth a visit. Oh, one other thing. Don’t miss out on Levante. Take a train there. It’s great

    The sea is spectacular and the water is so refreshing.

    The sea is spectacular and the water is so refreshing. We loved the pebble Beach in the New Town where there was a free section so we could enjoy a swim after our hike or bike ride. There are so many great restaurants in the old town. Though we liked the ( Miky)Bistro on the waterfront.

    Monterosso al Mare is kept very clean and we felt safe.

    Monterosso al Mare is kept very clean and we felt safe. Nice walking paths and many restaurants and shops to see. Even though it is a beach town, you don't see many children. It's more of a romantic adult getaway spot. Restaurants are small and most seating is on the patio. Many cannot accommodate strollers or parties greater than 4.

    The hotel was situated right in the middle of Monterosso so a great location. Even though we arrived after midnight the hotel had left our room keys with instructions for us. The bedroom was very comfy and had everything we needed. The bathroom had a lovely shower with plenty of hot water. The breakfasts were amazing! Fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, pancakes, pastries and cakes! The staff were so friendly and helpful. They had gluten free bread and pancakes for me.

    Hotel La Colonnina exceeded our expectations. It was located in a quiet street within the Old Town of Monterosso. We were greeted with a cool lemon drink and a piece of lemon cake on our arrival and sat peacefully in the sweet garden. Our room was gorgeous, quiet and cool. Breakfast amazing, staff so very helpful and location perfect. The train was close by, restaurants fabulous, beaches glorious and walking tracks amazing. ❤️❤️ A hidden gem.

    The location of the property was amazing! Close to the station and Monterosso was a gorgeous place to stay. The host, Stefano, was a lovely man and allowed us to keep our luggage at the hotel all day, as well as the use of the facilities and bedroom. The breakfast was very yummy. All facilities were perfectly clean. Our stay was very comfortable. Highly recommend

    Right on the beach with great views and many restaurants at the doorstep. It was a great place to base ourselves for the Cinque Terre walks. Checkin was a little complicated - needing to find a hotel uo the hill where checkin is done.
