FAQs about hotels in Palermo

A Symbol of Sicily

Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.

Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theater, and across the street is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina, whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.

Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining the 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.

Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, an intersection with a fountain in each corner.

Other attractions include the round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodations.

Great restaurants, shops, galleries and buildings.

Great restaurants, shops, galleries and buildings. Monreale is well worth a visit, just beautiful! The Massimo theatre was amazing, we went to the opera 'The Barber of Seville', a wonderful experience! Easy to walk around Palermo but watch the traffic when crossing the roads! Also paths in a bad state of repair so watch your step! Palermo is truly beautiful, a pity the bins always seemed to be overflowing!

A city with an interacted history that is reflected in its buildings of several different styles. Large pedestrian only area with nice local shops and glamorous restaurants. Well served by local transport from/to Palermo Airport. An easy destination for a long week-end, while seeking arts, culture and summer feelings.

Palermo is a nice safe city with lots of history, sites, shopping and food choices. Great walking city, but things are spead out. Took the on off bus to get the lay of the land. It was hotter and more humid than expected for September. Check the weather!

Avoid the city center, especially Via Maquena, it's just a tourist trap. The city seems to be prey of mass tourism. Same shops and food everywhere. I had to be in the area for work, but wouldn't stay again.

    Great city and very walkable.

Great city and very walkable. You can walk to all major sights in no more than 20 minutes. The food is tremendous and unlike anywhere else in Italy. Palermo has been one of our favorite stops during our month in Italy. It may be a little dirty for some but I think it gives in character and does not effect how much fun you will have. You can bus to a beautiful beach in just 30 minutes also.

Each time I return to this city, my affection for it deepens. Its streets may at times be loud, dirty and crowded, yet hidden within are quiet corners where one can breathe, linger, and feel the spell of its Sicilian charm. Like the finest of Italy’s cities, it unfolds in layers of history and art, moments waiting to be discovered.....

We had a wonderful time at Fervore Luxury Rooms! Everything was perfect!! Although we did a late check-in, the host welcomed us with sweet gifts and took time to introduce the city to us. The room is clean, quiet, and well situated 5min from the train station. It’s very practical to come from the airport but it’s also not far from the center of the city. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast with specialities from Sicily! The host answers quickly our messages, thank you so much for your kindness and availability! Grazie mille!

The B&B is great: clean, cozy and well-located. However, the highlight of the place is Martina, who is the host of the Dimora San Domenico. She makes you feel at home, she took the time to sit and chat with us about things to do in Palermo, where to eat, and how to spend our time there. The breakfasts were the best in Sicily. If I could give more stars to this place, I would!! ♥️

The place is located in a perfect historical area with easy access to the most lively places. Thanks to this accommodation we were able to focus on exploring the best of Palermo, our favourite city in Sicily! The staff were amazing. If you are looking for a place to park your car you can check the free place near the Mosque di Tunisia a Palermo at Vitolo Gran Cancelliere 10.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Nostra Boutique. The room is so beautiful, the staff amazing at every step. They really went above and beyond to make the hotel feel like a home away from home. The hotel location is perfect for walking around and as a central place to explore Palermo.
