The sea was amazing, the public beach was nice but there is not much space for everyone, I think the city government should increase some space. The food is very tasty, the people are very friendly and helpful. I would like to come back.

Pescara is a charming seaside city that is a little off the "beaten path" so you can find a lot of local activities like street markets and concerts under the stars. It's conveniently connected by regional train to smaller coastal towns in the "Costa dei trabocchi" -- an area with historic structures on wooden piers that used to be used for fishermen and are now beautiful restaurants to visit and enjoy 360' views of the sea. Also a great option to bike in some areas along the "via Verde." You must try the grilled skewered sheep meat, called arrosticini, which is a regional specialty -- alongside shellfish and other fresh seafood! If you have time, taking a trip into the nearby mountains to visit a refuggio, go hiking, or simply enjoy the mountain views or small medieval towns is well worth it! Ferries from nearby cities accessible by train (Ancona, Bari) can link you across the Adriatic sea to continue your adventure in Croatia or Montenegro.

Pescara is a good base to explore the beauty of the mountains an hour away. As a city it is modern and safe, a bit bland but full of nice restaurants including the two excellent fish restaurants where I had lunch and dinner.

I had intended to stay in Pescara simply as a base city while I looked at property in smaller towns within Abruzzo region. Pescara is a port city and usually I find those cities ok but would not think of living there but Pescara is a gem. The pedestrian only zones were my favorite with many many restaurants, bars and cafes. It is a very walkable city and people for the most part are quite friendly.

I was initially very skeptical about Pescara, it' lacks the historical appeal that we all love about Italy, but it grew on me, it's a very walkable city, lost of wide pedestrian street, very nice beach promenade area, where you can bike, run, walk and have a delicious meal in one of the many Pescara' restaurants.

We walked from Hotel Maja to Corso Vitorio Emanuele II (less than a mile, and a nice walk) which is a lovely pedestrianised area, full of delis and restaurants and there's also an indoor food market. We also walked to the old town which was pretty much shut up on a Tuesday morning in February - however, it was full of bars and clubs and I'm sure it must be a really vibrant place in the summer. We ate in a cafe/restaurant called Posa in Corso Vitorio Emanuele II - lovely staff and atmosphere and the best Tiramisu ever! Pescara beach is sandy and beautiful and has been designed with large rocky breaks to be safe for swimming and for youngsters to play in. I'm sure this is a hugely popular beach in the summer. In February it was just wonderfully quiet but enticing enough for us to take our shoes and socks off and to go for a bracing little paddle! We really enjoyed our stay in Pescara - I thoroughly recommend it. Oh, and Pescara is such an easy city to fly into from the UK - a tiny airport with free parking on the road outside for pick-ups.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay in Pescara with some of my family. Rooms 402 to 404. Best feature of the hotel is the staff and from the front desk to the chamber maids they were all great. Difficult to highlight anybody but a honourable mention to Giuseppe (Joseph) and Micaela on the front desk who we had the most interaction with. Location was good for us because we were not bothered about venturing too far and wide and walked everywhere we needed to. Breakfast was also a highlight with enough choice for all dietary needs.

The windows and curtains really felt like we were experiencing the culture of Italy. It was gorgeous to wake up to. The apartment was not too small and had all we needed. Hot water all the time. We were very comfortable. The view was the best and so near to the sea. I really feel we found a gem and I plan to look to stay anytime we visit family in Pescara.

Beautiful little guesthouse on a nice street, really well located for the beach, shops and train station. Breakfast is taken in a nearby cafe with a voucher which was nice. Giovanna is really knowledgeable about the city and was able to recommend a bike hire shop. Cycling in Pescara is a must!

The location of the apartment was excellent — just a 15-minute walk from the beach, which made it very convenient. I travel a lot around Italy, and I found the apartment to be comfortable and suitable for a short stay or longer stay.
