This region of Lazio has been hit hard in WWII. So if you are looking for medieval towns, keep looking. But it is a great place to use as a base to travel to Rome or Naples. It´s close to Montecassino and the abbey, which is a must see when you are in the area. Or visit Reggia Caserta. It was in a suburb with some other hotels so not a lot around. We also liked the fact that it had free off-street carparking and a lift.
