Pistoia is a small town, not Firenze or even the size of Lucca. However, it has amazing architecture and plenty to explore. There are many, many restaurant choices, it's clean, safe and appealing. It's so easy to drive in and walk to the center. Prices are low. We loved the ease of dining after a day of exploring. Pistoia is not very well known, but we were pleasantly surprised at the interesting medieval character of the town. Pistoia is a great place to visit when you have been visiting all the other major cities in Italy and just want some time out. It is a quieter town, you can walk around within a few hours easily. A gem of a town!
A gem of a town! Lots of wonderful shops, restaurants and bars to choose from. The locals were always kind and patient with my attempt at speaking italian! Great night life, the centre is awash with locals out eating and drinking every night. The staff were always happy to help when needed, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was fabulous , particularly the rainforest shower which was lovely. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection each morning. The pool area was well maintained. The adjoining restaurant was a lovely way to spend the evenings without going into town.
