Lovely, cozy village with a lot of shops and restaurants. Great to visit in September, there are still a lot of people, but not crowded. It is great to use the train and travel to the other 4 villages. Stunning Seaview. Great for hiking.

Great location.

Great location. The Hotel manager Robert graciously arrange private parking for us before our arrival which was very convenient. The room balcony had a great view of the main street down to the sea where the small fishing village boats are docked. The hotel was conveniently located near the train station to other villages and to local restaurants and shops. The room was very comfortable and clean.

This is an absolutely gorgeous seaside town.

This is an absolutely gorgeous seaside town. It's not big, but there are lots of restaurants, cafes, and shops, including many places to relax and enjoy a lovely view of the ocean. There is a marina where you can catch a ferry to other towns on the coast, book a sunset cruise, or rent a kayak to do your own exploring; there's also a small stone beach where you can go swimming. This is the southernmost town of the Cinque Terre region, which adjoins a park that has a number of hiking trails. It can be crowded in the summer but very much has the feeling of a small town. Keep in mind that, like all five of the towns in Cinque Terre, all of the houses are built into seaside cliffs, and to get almost anywhere you'll need to climb up and down stairs (or at least navigate steep elevation changes). There's also very limited car access; if possible, consider arriving by train, which will bring you right into the heart of town and also provides easy access to the other towns in Cinque Terre.

Riomaggiore is a gorgeous village and a part of the important heritage that is Cinque Terre. The history is one of taming the harsh conditions including creating terraces and buildings in a tough environment. The region is hilly and there are numerous steps required to navigate the villages and dwellings. These are a part of the Cinque Terre experience. The hiking and walking trails provide for great rewards with exceptional views of the coast. There are numerous ways to view the coast such as the ferry service and array of boat hire options and the train service just brilliant for quick movement through the villages.

I loved hiking fron Riomaggiore to Manarola!

I loved hiking fron Riomaggiore to Manarola! Via Beccara hike was a climb killer, but i loved it! Seafood was fresh! And water activities were fun, a bit chilly to be in the water in October, but it was still fun! Just make sure you are in mid-day and you have a change of clothes on the boat, or you’ll freeze!

The apartment is amazing and comfortable. The host had made sure to provide us with all the necessary amenities and the location was perfect to source anything additionally required. The view from the bedroom and living room was mesmerising and the apartment was big. One has to take stairs to get to the apartment but one shouldn’t complain as the best things are available after effort! We lived everything about the place and will return to this place again if we come back to Cinque Terre!

Christian, the host is the best! He waited with us to get a parking spot for our car, he helped us with the luggage and he had so many good tips voor food and what to do. We had the best time in Riomaggiore and the cinque terre. The appartement was very clean and at a very good location near the sea.

We stayed at Al Castello in Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre what a fabulous location, worth all the stairs to get there. It had the most magnificent views and once you got use to exercising up and down stairs everything was close by. We would stay there again.

Fantastic location right on the harbour of Riomaggiore, great view from my room. Paolo was fantastic as everyone else has said. Very keen that everyone should experience the real Cinque Terre. Amazing walks right from your doorstep.
