Great view from the room, over the mountains and lake, the same view also from breakfast room, and even from the spa. Fantastic breakfast, possible to eat also on the terrace. Great spa, saunas, pool, jacuzzi. We stayed just for night and enjoyed it very much!

The lake view from our window was absolutely stunning! The location is perfect — very central but still quiet. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the ferry port, making it super convenient to explore Lake Garda. There are many restaurants around, and the hotel’s own restaurant is also excellent. Parking at the hotel is easy, while the public parking nearby often has queues. The front desk staff were very helpful — they even mailed back an item our children forgot. This hotel truly made our Lake Garda trip even better!

Charm between the Alps and Lake Garda

Surrounded by mountains and vineyards, Riva del Garda is the northernmost town on the shores of Lake Garda. The area is divided between the regions of Veneto, Lombardy and Trentino-Südtirol, showing the mix of influences present in this picturesque town. It is regarded as a gateway to the Dolomites, a paradise for hikers and bikers, and an important windsurfing centre.

Its location between the lake, Mount Rocchetta, and Mount Brione gives the city a romantic appearance. The medieval Rocca Fortress has been transformed into a museum, and is a stage for numerous cultural activities. Hotels in Riva del Garda’s historic centre range from cosy B&B’s to modern accommodation, including private apartments.

From here you can visit the Gardaland theme park in Lazise, and Malcesine’s panoramic cable car. The Pregasina village is just outside the town and offers scenic lake views. A large number of Riva del Garda hotels are located on its outskirts and the Torbole area.

    The access to hiking/biking trails could keep you busy for weeks. The history of the area is very interesting in particular the war time history. The area is surrounded by the most incredible mountains/views. The beaches were very popular with lots of people swimming late September.

    Beautiful town - lively but not too busy, even in August. The town is right on the lake so you can wander the pretty streets and enjoy the lake. We went on the day cruise with Speedy Gonzales which was great.

    Very charming city with nice restaurants, great views and adorable Lago di Garda. There are so many different options for activities - walking in the city or around the lake, cycling, bathing on some of the beaches, going with boat in the lake, etc.

    LOVED everything.

    LOVED everything. Have been to Italy many times, never to Lake Garda. So glad we picked Grand Hotel. Easy relaxing walk to the beaches, loved being right at the main square. Fabulous breakfast, all around wonderful!! Fabulous food all over this lovely town. Perfect for pedestrians. Beautiful water views. Easy to catch a ferry to other towns.

    To get to Riva Del Garda from the train station in Rovereto...

    To get to Riva Del Garda from the train station in Rovereto you can take a bus. They let you put your luggage in the exterior lift door compartments. You have to do this yourself. Cost 3.5 Euros each. The bus schedule during the weekdays is "hourly" but weekends are different so you have to be aware of the symbols next to the time. To return to the train station on Saturday we booked a private taxi due to limited bus schedules. Private taxi was 60.00 euros for two. Super busy traffic and took over an hour to get to train station... so book accordingly.

    An excellent stay here with some beautiful restaurants in the lanes of the old town. Stunning and immaculate lakeside setting. Ideal for cycling, walking and watersports . Recommend the boat trips on the lake. The best gelato at Flora in the newer end of the town.

    Very comfortable hotel in a great location by the waterfront at Riva del Garda. My room had a comfortable bed and a modern en suite bathroom. I ate at the hotel restaurant and food and service were very good. Very good breakfast on the hotel terrace. I requested a parking space which was nearby in a shared hotel car park and I was able to unload my luggage at the hotel itself by the reception giving me clear instructions about how to enter the ZTL. Overall a very good experience.

    The breakfast was the best I’ve had in Italy, with a wide variety of high-quality food. I’ve stayed at many hotels, but this one truly stands out for its breakfast—definitely worth booking a room with breakfast included. The location is excellent, and they offer free parking for guests. We had an EV, and charging was easy and reasonably priced compared to other hotels in Italy. The staff were wonderful, always greeting us with a smile. I will definitely come back!

    It was my best experience in Italy. We came to Riva to take part in half marathon. Staff are very friendly and kind, and this not an ordinary phrase, it was really polite attitude. They gave possibility to make check out later after race finished. Breakfast was unbelievable.Bread, cheese. fruits, everything. Our stay was amazing. Guys, you make a great job! So if I will came back, I will choose this hotel again.

    We booked a superior double room. Wonderful grand hotel, well situated. Loved the swimming pool and decor downstairs. Breakfast was excellent, and we had dinner one evening and it was the best meal I had in Italy in a week. We wish we had stayed longer than 3 nights, it wasn’t enough. Would definitely return.

    The hotel is in a great location. There is a modern feel to the rooms and facilities and a friendly vibe from the staff. We used the courtyard facilities to relax and the breakfasts were generous. It is our second stay and we really enjoy the hotel as a place to be based in spectacular Riva del Garda.
