Stayed for three nights in mid-September with my mother. It is located in a perfect place, just in front of the main station. We never had sleepless nights as it was quiet even during the weekend. There is a supermarket a couple of minutes away which was very convenient. We enjoyed breakfast, especially the cappuccini served from the kitchen (instead of coffee machines). The room was spacious and the shower was okay, and the beds were made and towels replaced every day. They allowed us to leave our luggage after checkout which was great as we took an afternoon train. We traveled to other destinations such as Vietri sul Mare by train and visited the Salerno duomo by taxi (15 euros). It was our third time in the area and Salerno was a perfect place to stay. Graziie mille.

I had a wonderful stay at the Mediterranean Hotel. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable and spotless, and the location makes it easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer. A special mention goes to Gianluca, who truly made a difference during my stay. He was not only super nice and attentive, but also highly competent and professional. His helpful attitude and genuine kindness made me feel right at home. I would definitely recommend the Mediterranean Hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and memorable experience.

Michaela was a great hostess, the apartment was clean, everything was new. It had all the necessary things that an apartment should have. The parking is private and secure in the yard itself and is closed with a gate. It was very important for us because we were traveling by motorbike. You should know that you have a private bathroom and a shared kitchen, but this is not a problem for us.

    We really loved all the cultural and historic places within the city and especially enjoyed the walkway along the ocean. As vegetarians, we appreciated the number and variety of restaurants and types of food available; in fact, we enjoyed some of the best Indian food we've ever had. We also liked the pedestrian friendly area in the city center, the availability of public transportation, and the general affordability of Salerno.

    Old Salerno was very nice.

    Old Salerno was very nice. Great location for ferries, busses and the train. Although busses are a challenge for the journeys up the coast. We ate at Taverna Santa Maria De Domno. Via M.Salernitano 63/69. Salerno. It was a perfect spot for dinner. Great food! Great service and reasonably priced. Best restaurant so far on this trip!

    Great old town, not as crowded as some other spots.

    Great old town, not as crowded as some other spots. We found our favorite restaurant out of our 3 weeks in Italy in the old town, "Osteria Dei Mercanti" the eggplant parmesan was to die for and the servers were all wonderful... I would definitely recommend Salerno, as it is makes an easy place to reach the Amalfi coast via boat, fairly quickly without the crowds of tourists, more locals around.

    We loved exploring Salerno, there is so much history - museums, churches, castle, gardens and lots of fabulous restaurants, bars and cafes and with easy transport links to explore other beautiful areas nearby.

    Great city to enjoy southern Italy and the coast line of...

    Great city to enjoy southern Italy and the coast line of Amalfi. A nice main headquarters for day trips to Amalfi ( town ); Positano, Capri; Pompeii and the British Commonwealth Cemetary there. Take the ferry(ies) a few times to enjoy the Sea, the views and some fresh air. Take the Coastal Muni Bus ( slightly higher fare than a city bus ) to get the snot scared out of you by the curves, narrow roads and Great Italian Drivers! The views of the coast line and mountains are wonderful! PS: don't buy too many lemon centric items/ souvenirs!

    The public transportation system could be improved.

    The public transportation system could be improved. There are no signs to say where to go. The station Information Office provided incorrect directions and most of the time was closed. The metro platform was changed 2 minutes before departure to the opposite side of the station (8 platforms across). We had to run through the underground corridors to make it. No clear signage to follow. It was a miracle that we could still catch the train. We visited the Gardens of Minerva. There is an elevator that goes up to the gardens level. It wasn't advertised. Although we were 3 steps from it at the bottom of the cliff, we did not see the elevator because it was in an enclosed gang. Therefore we followed a curvy road up the hill in 30 degrees heat and even on that road there were no signs to say where the gardens are. Only when we got in front of the gardens gates we knew we arrived. The few (4) restaurants we wanted to eat out at, advertised on the Internet they were open and when we walked there they were closed, a piece of paper in the window announced the staff was on vacation. The park located near the vila comunale di Salerno was very nice, the sea boardwalk was pleasant. The city could manage the garbage better.

    The location is absolutely perfect in terms of being close to the centre of Salerno - less than 2 minutes to the main street, 5 minutes to the beach, about 20 minute walk to the main square where there are shops and restaurants but you pass many on the way. As expected, the hotel was difficult to locate but a quick call to the hotel led me in the right direction. Antonio was very helpful, even carrying my suitcase up the many, many stairs to the room. Maria was also lovely and they were very welcoming hosts

I had a room with a terrace and there was a kettle with tea and coffee. The room was clean and tidy. There is a bidet in the bathroom. The breakfast was good.

    A perfect location in Salerno. Bus stop across the street, hotel across from the sea. Care clearly taken in the rooms with huge posters of classic art and attention to detail. The rooms were large, kitchen was complete and coffee, tea, oil was provided. Anna, at the front desk was very helpful.
