Grand Hotel Salsomaggiore is an incredible place—set in an equally incredible town. The location is perfect: a short stroll through the park to a cluster of excellent restaurants. Don’t forget to book the SPA in advance; access is limited, which keeps it uncrowded and relaxing. The spa itself isn’t large, but it has everything you need: cold plunge/ice, hot pools, a hammam, two saunas, and a tropical shower. Hotel managers and the front desk team are outstanding—proactive, kind, and ready to solve any problem. Breakfast is superb. If you don’t see something on the buffet, just ask—they’ll happily prepare what’s missing or make the drink you’re craving.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! Fabio, our host, truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. My stay at Albergo Edera was very enjoyable. It’s a cozy, family-run hotel where you can feel the care and warmth of the owners. I really liked the breakfasts, especially the homemade pastries prepared by the hostess. My room was small but cozy, with simple yet very comfortable furniture, attention to detail, and top-level cleanliness. The location is perfect – close to the city center and the train station. If you're looking for a small hotel with a personal touch, a warm atmosphere, great hospitality, comfort, and an excellent location, Albergo Edera is a great choice. I highly recommend it!

It's a very nice hotel. The room is clean, good bathroom, has everything you need. I had a good night's sleep. Very nice hotel owner. Very communicative, ready to help with all questions. Waited until I arrived and checked me in even though I arrived from the airport much later.

I stayed at Hotel Amica and had a very pleasant experience. Everything was as expected - the room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable.     Salso is a small town, nearest notable towns are Parma and...

    Salso is a small town, nearest notable towns are Parma and Modena. The surrounding countryside is pretty awesome with castles and cheese/ham factories The town was renowned for it thermal spa baths. Now in 2024 unfortunately the town seems to be a dormitory town, with slightly passe hotels and possibly no spas. The main spa is about to have a major major overhaul and refurbishment, to be completed within the next few years. Work has already started. However, there a some nice shops and cafes, and very good restaurants. The weather was not kind to us and it was damp and cool (April would normally be warm).

    Leafy streets, many parks, easy to find your way around the old town; interesting buildings and good cafés. Sad to see so many grand buildings not in use, and the renowned Thermae was closed for renovations. The exhibition of Gabriel Chini was wonderful.

    Unfortunately as the hotel owner explained to us, the Italian thermal towns suffered badly during the pandemic when being in close contact was forbidden, this has left its mark, with many large buildings closed and others looking tatty. There are still individual shops trading here, and some restuarants opening, but you can see they are not finding it easy. Also Italy, unlike France or Spain, does not seem to promote rural tourism in the same way, but it needs to reinvent itself now that the situation has changed.

    It is a small town where the only thing you can do to pass the time is eat.the shops were not open on Monday -not even the pharmacies and closed for many hours during the day.during the weekend there was no taxi service

    I love Salsomaggiore.

    I love Salsomaggiore. This is my third visit and discovered the great Lido. The Therme itself is amazing and sad that it was closed as I have not yet been inside. Clearly a must in future. The park is delightful and shady and the restaurants friendly.

    Charming hotel, a couple of steps from the centre of Salso Maggiore. Super clean bathroom, spacious bed room, wonderful and varied breakfast. Roberta and her brother do a fantastic job and take such care of their guests. We stayed just one night, en route from Abruzzo to Alsace, France, but it is a lovely relaxing stop over. We slept so well, the area is tranquil..yet restaurants, bars etc are just a short walk away. We will be back, it's a lovely hotel

    Very professional receptionist, and very pleasant. I was passing by to go down south and it was really helpful to be in touch with her, willing to provide good details and set up things right even before my arrival. The hotel is charming and very clean with all the comfort needed. I wish I would stay one more night.
