We arrived from the Netherlands, but we both are Hungarians, so we needed to get used with the Italian lifestyle, like the siesta time, when there almost nothing is opened to get some food or drink. In exchange the places like restaurants are opened till late night. Winter is definitely not a good time to visit San Leone as most of it is closed. It looked run-down and in need of a face lift. There was litter everywhere. The roads and pavements are all in urgent need of repair, with serious potholes and uneven surfaces, but this endemic in Sicily. San Leone is a perfect sea side town, with very few tourists. Easy to get to via train and then taxi. It was a short cab ride from Valley of the Temples and had lots of amazing beach bars and restaurants within walking distance of our hotel. He did everything to make our stay phenomenal. We had a beautiful sunny room with a sea view and eventhough we had to make some changes with our booking, mister Salvador made sure there were no complications. I need to mention a welcome drink and dolce which adds to the special atmosphere upon arrival. The fruit and olive trees and the flowers evoke a feeling of an Italian villa from a bygone era. The bar and restaurant are in the same building as an old watchtower and is very picturesque.
