We only stayed one night but walked along the beach and watched the sunset from the marina. We also visited the local shops and ate dinner in the restaurant next door which was excellent. Lovely little coastal town.
Lovely little coastal town. We had two nights here which was just the right amount. The highlight was the beautiful coastal walk to Portofino and we then took the ferry back to see the coastline from the sea. Santa Margherita is a lovely pretty Italian Town.
Santa Margherita is a lovely pretty Italian Town. The train station is in the centre to enable further adventures in the area. Cinque Terra is forty minutes away by train and Portofino is accessible by ferry or approximately an hours walk.Guest review byhelenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Very nice hotel in a good position.
Very nice hotel in a good position. Short walk to the beach, buses and ferry’s. Hotel is on a hill so expect an uphill walk back from town but it is quite easy (I’m 73). Lots of bars and restaurants in the centre. Bus (or walk for the energetic) to portofino. All the staff were amazing, the hotel was spotlessly clean, the frontline desk was always very polite, with impeccable manners and nothing was a problem for them. I opted for a half board and it was the best decision I could make. The food was amazing and the restaurant staff truly made me feel welcome. The whole hotel works like a Swiss watch. The best possible location in Santa Margherita Ligure. Train station and bus stops right next door. Despite the central location, the bedroom is quiet.
