Santo Stefano Quisquina is a quaint village in the interior of Sicily. It is located on a mountain side overlooking a beautiful valley. We went there primarily to research my wife's family history and we found the locals surprisingly helpful and even interested in our visit. Our host introduced us to neighbors with the family name, who invited us into their home and offered coffee and cake while we talked. They had been visited before by other members of my members of my wife's family and shared photographs of that visit. Local street food was very good. Grocery, pharmacy and other services were easily accessible. The town is set high in the hills which are largely covered by forest and easily accessible for hiking. They also have a lovely park for strolling and relaxing. We stayed at Affittacamere Casa Quisquina. It was right in the middle of town with street parking in front of the building. Our room was very comfortable with large queen-sized bed, large modern bathroom, and a nice balcony. Our hostess Helena is a gem. Very helpful and informative. I highly recommend Affittacamere Casa Quisquina! Also, the town, as it is centrally located, and you can do day trips in all directions to experience the beautiful Sicilian countryside!
