As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the Owner of Tenuta Bettozza Mr. Norberto, he’s very welcoming, he helped us with the Luggage too, we were really surprised how clean and new the room was, it really felt like that during all the stay. At this location we were able to enjoy morning and Afternoon Walks near by…. In one word I would extend my gratitude to all the family running the place for making it feel like home for ten days… we will certainly go back.

    We usually stop in Sasso Marconi on our way to the South of Italy from Germany. La Quercia is closed to the motorway, still in a quiet area, on the hills. We dined at Osteria dei Sani in Sasso Marconi, 8 min drive from la Quercia, very good. The property accommodated my request to have a take-away breakfast, since we had to resume our journey early in the morning. I really appreciated it. The room was clean, spacious and fully equipped.

    Sasso Marconi is very small and quiet I didn't have time to...

    Sasso Marconi is very small and quiet I didn't have time to fully explore but getting around on foot or by car is easy enough. Getting in and out from other towns is a different story, if you don't use Italian Telepass you can only exit from the autostrada at the south of the city and cannot enter the autostrada at all. If you're heading north, look forward to at least an hour of heavy traffic on the strada statale and Bologna's ring road before getting away.

    We enjoyed a super nice show for free at the main hall and kids were amazed. This was well published and they also had a workshop which was unfortunately sold out, but as a parent this is anyway a positive sign.

    A beautiful ducal palace with special history.

    A beautiful ducal palace with special history. There is a good cafe in the grounds, a great restaurant, a wide selection of local wines and foods. There are interesting country walks, our dog loved it. The staff are kind and interested in the welfare of guests. The restaurant service was first class, not intrusive but we did not have to wait long for service. Quality of the food was excellent, the best steak and lamb that we have had in over twenty years of visiting Italy. We will return next time we drive through the area.

    The hotel's owner was kind enough to wait for us until 11pm to get keys, as we had a late train - many thanks again! The room was extremely clean, very big and with a wide and comfortable bed (though pillows were a bit soft in my opinion). The hotel is located only 10-15min away from Sasso Marconi station by foot, from where you can catch a direct train to Bologna.

    The hotel was brilliant. Staff were really accommodating when we used a baggage transfer service, and happy to help us plan where to buy food on Easter Sunday. Our room was very clean and shower was great. Bed was comfortable. Our room had a beautiful terrace and a hot tub, and the price was extremely reasonable. Dinner in the restaurant was really delicious too.

    We loved our stay an and our hosts were very welcoming and brought us cold drinks in the garden after walking from Bologna on the Via degli Dei. Dinner and breakfast were served communally and we chatted with other friendly guests. Beautiful dogs too! One of my favourite stays on the trail due to the friendly, family-run atmosphere. Thank you!

    super close to the local train station (5-10 minute walk). from this station it is only twenty minute train ride to bologna central. the apartment itself is beautiful, spacious and tidy. host is super helpful and communicative :))
