Susa is what I'd call an authentic town.
Susa is what I'd call an authentic town. They haven't gone too far down the route of turning it into a tourist centre. We spent our time walking in the surrounding countryside and wandering through the narrow streets., which we enjoyed. Both nights we booked in for dinner and breakfast as we had a long drive. Breakfast was excellent but dinner particularly on the second occasion was very poor. The starter of pasta very good as was the dessert but we had bols de viande as a main course. It was appalling and should not have been served. We didn't intend to book a hotel with no wifi but it turned out to make the 3 days we spent that much more special as we explored the area. There is wifi in the restaurants in town and Susa has great signage to get to all the wonderful ruins.
