Lovely place. Everyone very friendly. Sea great for gentle swimming; beautiful light in walks along lungomare, thanks to east-west orientation. Temple above Terracina a wonderful place to visit and look down from; another temple in Terracina itself, and a small Roman theatre, also full of interest. We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June.
We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June. We experienced a local feel with few tourists. the old town is fantastic. We rented electric bikes, which is recommended. Then you can get around easily. A trip up to the temple went like a dream in the heat. We also cycled out to the Cantina Sant'Andrea winery. It took approx. one hour one way. A wonderful trip and a great visit where we tasted many good wines. One should also enter a trip to Ponza. The ferry departs from the city centre. An incredibly cozy island. We chose to rent a boat when we were out there, so that we could take a trip to the outside of the island and swim in the crystal clear water. It was magical! It's located right in front of a lovely beach (Coral beach) where there is a good beach bar and restaurant (p.s. really good mojitos!). The staff were all so helpful and kind, especially Nadia. She was so kind to us when our flights got cancelled and we needed some assistance. The staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. A great location in Terracina Alta close to hiking trails, attractions, the beachfront, and wonderful restaurants. We drove from Rome, but parked our car when we got there, and didn't use it until the last day. We appreciate our host's knowledge and responsiveness to our questions.
