Venice is magical. It is an architectural miracle. Every street and canal is a masterpiece. There is no place like it anywhere. It's expensive but worth it. It's a very safe place and every one there was wonderful. I recommend using water taxis to get around, for example, one can take a water taxi from the airport to your hotel! Moro cafe was nice. Favorite restaurant was al vecio Marangon. Veranda/bar on the canal at the Gritti Palace is very nice. Stayed at The Gritti Palace and Sina Centurion Palace and both were 5-star and exceptional. I have been to Venice 3 times and my wife and family still want to go back Pace of life there is lovely, interesting to see how the city works with boats moving bedding and supplies in the early morning around the city. So many nice places to eat, too many to mention. Very easy and quick to walk around. Well worth the cost of going up the Camponile tower to get overhead view of the whole city, Grand Canal is fab, Rialto bridge is a lovely place to eat and watch the world go by. Doge's palace, St Peter's Basilica also good. 2 x classical concerts in Chiesa di San Vidal listening to Vivaldi were stand outs over a couple of trips. Booked through Clasictic.com. Great to see St. Mark's Square at various times.
Great to see St. Mark's Square at various times. We went to Vespers in the evening and Mass in the morning. Along with listening to Rick Steves audio this gave us a nice experience with the Basillica. Also to take the Grand Canal several times (us with RS).
