An incredibly unique and beautiful city, our favorite in Italy. The museums and cathedrals are very special.(Don’t miss the Frari church). And the food was terrific, with of course pasta but many unique Venetian dishes as well. Side trip to Murano to see glass made was also special. Perhaps the only negative were the crowds in St. Mark’s and Rialto.

Great city for solo travellers, I always felt safe thought of course usual rules apply re watching bags etc. on public transport and in busy places. Best times to enjoy Venice are early morning or evenings as its so busy during the day. Favourite places this trip were the Campanile in St. Mark's with great views over the city and the historical Murano glass exhibition on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

Some of the locals I encounter, employees, are very rude, mean. Had one man hit my niece’s arm, screamed at us, made us leave. I want to take sweatshirt out of bag to get better look. Sure he was just having a bad day. Beautiful city, some of the best food I have ever had! Glad I could mark it off my bucket list.

This was our 3rd time in Venice (most likely our last).

This was our 3rd time in Venice (most likely our last). We have a cruise leaving from Ravenna. It was extremely crowded, everything got more expensive and there are service charges in almost all restaurants. For example; my husband and I had a pizza that cost 10 euros (good price) BUT there was a 3.00 service chage per person and we were charged 4.00 euros for a bottle of water. I asked about the service charges and the waiter said it's for the linens, dishes and utensils. The pizza was not good. Overall expensive: expensive, over crowded and food was mediocre at best ( and we ate at nice restaurants).

    I prefer accommodation in Mestre.

I prefer accommodation in Mestre. In a B&B near train station is convenient. You don’t have to struggle with luggage and bridges like the island in Venice. If your accommodation be near bus station it helps to commute easy.

Too confusing - you need a day to figure stuff out then time to make reservations and booking for what you want to see and eat. Bring piles of money for water taxi rides or be able to easily walk 20000 streps a day.

Mostly the value for money in a place like Venice. It's far from the most luxurious place you'll stay in and it's also a decent walk to the main attractions, but you really do get what you pay for. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom served it's purpose, although the shower was a bit small. Hot water was consistent the whole time which is a huge bonus for budget hotels in Italy. The artwork on the walls was a nice touch too. A great place to stay if you're on a budget and don't mind walking a bit.

The hotel was beautifully designed. We felt like we had stepped into a museum with all the best-quality Venetian tapestries and glass chandeliers. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, they made us feel at home. The location was also excellent, it was walking distance to most attractions, it was near a water bus stop, and surrounded by local art galleries and stores. I would recommend this to anyone who’s looking for an intimate, boutique hospitality at the heart of Venice :)

Extremely helpful and friendly staff who provided information and recommendations, took our luggage to our rooms for us overall excellent and welcoming. The rooms were absolutely immaculate and the bed was extremely comfortable - we had the best sleep here out of all hotels we had booked throughout our tour of Italy. A good range of toiletries and complementaries provided

Great location, tucked away from the bustle of the main Venice streets, but with supermarket, cafe and restaurants just round the corner. We were travelling through Italy as a family (2+2) and my daughter voted this the best apartment that we stayed in on our trip - high praise indeed!
