    I recommend staying.

I recommend staying. I wrote a long review separately which I hope is useful; please refer to that. In addition, for young children, you can visit the sheep shed where they keep the sheep to see sheep up close, wander down and the up the hill behind reception, and get the best tasting soft serve ever from the restaurant!

We spent 2 nights there, went up the hill to take pictures...

We spent 2 nights there, went up the hill to take pictures of Mt Fuji from the Pagoda platform - or rather near the platform because it was totally crowded (cherry blossom time & blue skies). On the other full day, we cycled around Lake Kawaguchi. There are some really beautiful views, We went counterclockwise which makes sense as the clear skies and views of Fuji seem to be better in the morning - with the clouds moving in in the afternoon. You also go from more crowded areas to more nature based areas with forests and temples - so it felt more relaxing this way. The city itself felt not very inspiring though - beyond the fantastic view of Mt Fuji. Lots of average or run down places, many day tourists, and in the afternoon everything shuts down - guess after the day tourists leave - and it became a bit of a ghost town. This was in April so not sure how it is in summer of fall, but 2 nights felt entirely sufficient - unless of course your in the hiking season, heading up Mt Fuji.

My stay at Villas Fuji Sengen was everything I could have...

My stay at Villas Fuji Sengen was everything I could have hoped for, with serene surroundings and top-notch service that made us feel completely at home. The property is beautifully designed, blending modern comforts with traditional aesthetics, making every corner a delightful experience. However, I must mention that my visit coincided with an unexpected continuation of winter conditions. I had hoped to witness the majestic Mount Fuji against a backdrop of spring, but instead, the area was still enveloped in a thick blanket of snow. The roofs and trees were covered, and the roads near the villa were quite snowy, which obscured the view of the mountain. This was a bit of a surprise and slightly disappointing as seeing Mount Fuji was a significant reason for my visit. Despite this natural setback, the villa itself provided a wonderfully cozy refuge from the cold. The warmth of the staff and the comfort of the villa made it easy to enjoy the beauty of the snowy landscape in its own right. It turned into a different kind of getaway than planned—one more focused on relaxation and enjoying the unexpected winter wonderland. If you’re planning a visit, I’d highly recommend checking the seasonal weather conditions as Mount Fuji can be shy and hide behind the weather. But rest assured, regardless of the season, Villas Fuji Sengen offers a superb escape from the ordinary, and I left fully satisfied with my stay.

Very convenient drive to five lakes and major Mt Fuji sights...

Very convenient drive to five lakes and major Mt Fuji sights. We were able to drive to Kawaguchiko both during the day to take the cable car for panoramic views and at night to see the fireworks. Many restaurants in the region for Japanese and other cuisines, no short of choices. Beautiful views of Mt Fuji from various areas of the five lakes region. Chureito Pagoda is a must visit despite the long climb up. Gotemba premium outlet is popular and not far away for branded shopping and dining.

There was a supermarket, Lawsons and a 100yen shop nearby.

There was a supermarket, Lawsons and a 100yen shop nearby. Also a very nice family restaurant with robot machines to bring your food. And a karaoke place. Just a couple of minutes' walk to FujiQ. We were met in the lobby for a trip to Aokigihara Jukai and the wind cave. Very convenient.

The hotel was pleasant and comfortable and the Japanese bath was really wonderful. Also they gave us good advice about where to eat very nearby. Small minuses: the beds were good but the pillows were very hard (I know this is Japanese style) and the reception did not have plug converters for our European plugs. Sadly, the wonderful view promised from the hotel room was totally cloudy -- we could not see Mt Fuji at all the first day and only glimpses the second day. This was disappointing but certainly the hotel is not to blame!

We got here late at night and were warmly welcomed. They managed to fit us in at the hotel restaurant and so glad they did the food was amongst the best we had eaten in Japan. Unfortunately we did not get the breakfast, I wish we had. The onsen was really nice, it is just one outdoor bath but it is beautiful and a perfect temperature. We only stayed one night to be close to FujiQ the next day but I wish we had booked longer. Highly recommend this place.

The hotel is located in Akasaka(赤坂) where the famous Fuji amusement park is located in, You can see directly the park's facility from the window, I would say the location is good, The facilities are clean as well, I didn't buy breakfast tickets, so I have no idea to say something about the food served by hotel, but I would say you will not disappointed for the food of any Japanese restaurant, even you just rendom pick a place nearby railway station.

The house was very big for Japanese customs. Beds were very comfortable, there were two bathrooms and two toilets so we had a lot of space and privacy before heading to Tokyo´s tiny hotel rooms. We especially loved the terrace and the view on Mount Fuji which was just fantastic. Having breakfast and evening drinks on the terrace was very relaxing, especially after climbing Mt. Fuji!
