The facilities and rooms are very new. Extremely spacious and immaculately clean. It was so clean that I didn't even see a a single speck of dust. The location is excellent, it's right next to a bus stop so travelling to other areas in Hakone is very easy. The bus also goes all the way to Odawara. Across the street is a 7/11 that is open 24 hours. There are also some nice local restaurants in the area. The wifi was stable with very high data bandwidth speeds over 200mb. The TV was newer model and it has apps like YouTube and Netflix. The room had a washer/dryer for laundry, which I didn't know how to use as the buttons were in Japanese, but the front desk staff helped me with it. If you need laundry detergent, it only costs 100 yen from the front desk. The breakfast was a nice buffet of food. The entire staff at the hotel were very respectful and professional and really do their best to help. My stay here was well beyond expectations.

Everything. The hotel room, our private onsen, the public spa and onsen, the gym, the fact that the hotel is nearby a river with a waterfall. It makes for an excellent private onsen experience in my opinion. Never had anything like this before!

Honbako has the most beautiful and relaxing space, and the staff was so kind and accommodating. We had a private onsen on our balcony that we used multiple times per day. The food was a real highlight of the stay, and a cool experience, because the chef/team takes time to explain how each dish was inspired by history and the local region. Highly recommend staying here!

Pictures simply cannot do this place justice. It is incredibly beautiful, every corner of the hotel was well curated and designed. The service was absolutely incredible. We had a couple of things we needed assistance with and Reiko and Yuna were always available to help our group. Everyone was just so kind! There are literally hundreds of cocktails to try and everything we had was great. This was honestly the most magical hotel I’ve ever stayed in, just unreal attention to detail and service. Thank you so much, barhotel!

We had a lovely stay! The facility felt newly renovated and clean. The owner was very friendly and spent time giving us a ride and talking with us. The views from the dining room were beautiful, and the food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Our room was on the first floor, so it felt dim and cool, which we found restful. The onsen bath was clean and beautiful. We also had a great day in the town walking to the wetlands garden and a local cafe!
