Takai the owner was sooooo helpful, it made all the difference to my stay in Matsumoto. I loved the book he made describing the different restaurants and what their specialities were. So much love and hard work have gone into making this place special. Takai was patient and answered all of my questions and went out of his way to help me. I am very grateful for his kindness and consideration. Lots of eating and drinking places are only a few minutes away as is the castle. It's also only about 15 minutes walk from the station so even with a suitcase I could walk here.

The offer of toiletries to take to the onsen, bikes to cycle round the city and free washing facilities made it such an easy place to stay without hidden extra costs. The kitchen was well kitted out. Staff and other travellers very friendly.

Excellent location! With a little onsen but they have everything you need, even hair essence and facial masks for women. You can get the supplies like lotion/face wash from the counter. It is very thoughtful that we can check the crowdiness of the onsen from the TV at the room. In the morning, they provide free coffee to go at the lobby.
