Takai the owner was sooooo helpful, it made all the difference to my stay in Matsumoto. I loved the book he made describing the different restaurants and what their specialities were. So much love and hard work have gone into making this place special. Takai was patient and answered all of my questions and went out of his way to help me. I am very grateful for his kindness and consideration. Lots of eating and drinking places are only a few minutes away as is the castle. It's also only about 15 minutes walk from the station so even with a suitcase I could walk here.

The offer of toiletries to take to the onsen, bikes to cycle round the city and free washing facilities made it such an easy place to stay without hidden extra costs. The kitchen was well kitted out. Staff and other travellers very friendly.

Fantastic location. Right next to the railway station and opposite the main bus stand. Since my main focus was on getting to Kamikochi and the Alps everyday, this served my purpose perfectly well. The rooms were spotless and excellent and the staff were super friendly.

The room is clean, the TV in the room can check the availability of the Osen, restaurant and the laundry facilities. The hotel location is great and easy access. The location is good close to everything. I stayed in a normal capsule and in the grand cabin. I would highly recommend spending the 15-20% more for the grand cabin as you get significantly more space than what you have the capsule, it is also significantly quieter on that floor compared to the floor with all the capsules. You get access to a TV a normal bed and there is a desk. So if you go to Japan and can afford to spend the 5-7$ extra per night definitely use it. You can use the bikes for free with a time limit of 3 hours however they permitted me to use it for an hour longer. They have a lot of vending machines inside the hotel so you always have access to something to drink. They have relatively large lockers where you can put your valuables but it won't fit a +50L backpack.
