I really enjoyed my stay at Yuuhiken. Everybody was extremely nice and welcoming, and also really helpful. They even offered to drive me to Takeda station. The place was really clean and beautiful. And the kaisei cuisine meals were delicious !

Dinner and breakfast were both superb. The location, bang in the town centre and near the footpath up to the castle ruins, was perfect. It is so nice to find a historic building restored and used in this way! It was a real treat to stay there.

The hostess lady is from Taiwan and speaks Japanese and Mandarin, so that was very helpful for us. She was also very helpful providing information on the castle ruin and local attractions and restaurants. When we asked her if there was any place we could rent bikes to ride along the river, she offered her own bikes to us. We really loved staying here in Takeda. It's quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Everything we wanted in a small Japanese town experience.

    The remnants of the rich mining town still remain in the beautiful houses and temples. While most towns like this begin to decay after mining ends, Ikuno has been kept mostly as it was. Everyone is very nice and accepting, and there is much to explore.
