Really lovely owner that even took us to the local onsen and picked us up. Also reserved a place at a local restaurant, so we wouldn't go hungry. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood and the night sky was cool to see with all the stars. Could store our bicycles under a roof too. Really comfortable beds and pillows.

An authentic home restored beautifully by Dani and Evan! The touches of original furniture and vintage furnishings really set this house apart from anywhere else I have stayed in Japan. Dani and Evan were so welcoming and gave us great recommendations for local activities and restaurants. A perfect stop half way along the Shimanami Kaido Cycle Route. Stayed there while cycling the Shimanami Kaidou. Very spacious traditional house, with a great backyard for dogs. They even have a grooming table and dog bed for those that bring their pets. There are laundry facilities and a comfortable living room. If you don't bring food, there are a few choices to buy in place (enough for a couple, not for a family).

The couple who run the place were incredibly kind, the house itself is amazing (clean, many fun little hidden statues) and lots of extra facilities like goggles for snorkeling, free tea and coffee, books (manga) to read also in English! We wish we could've stayed here for longer!

Although basic and very small the room was perfect for one night. Showers and toilets were very clean. Other guests were considerate.

    The island has a very slow pace. Great for relaxing.

    The island has a very slow pace. Great for relaxing. We came here on a motorcycle/fishing trip. The motorcycle part was great. The fishing part…. was difficult😩 Lots of chinu (black bream) around and big, but they were not interested in the lures we used. Saw some locals catching them with bait, so we will have to change our strategy next time! Also, squid fishing is quite popular. One more thing, many restaurants only open for lunch or close/take last orders early so be prepared for this or you’ll be eating convenience store foods!🤣

    We were involved in the 7 bridges bike ride over 2 days so...

    We were involved in the 7 bridges bike ride over 2 days so we only stayed in Imabari for one night. If I was to do this trip again I would do it over 3 or 4 days in order to stay a little longer and explore.
