It has many places to visit. Of all, we love going up to Mt Omuro enjoying the view and walking round the crater. Jogasaki Coast which has great view of the rock formation. Izu is a wonderful varied destination with great food ,beaches and outdoor things to do ,It is a good place to go when you need a break from thee heat and crowds of summer in Japan.I very much recommend visiting Terrace Orange in Toi..It's a unique building built as both a tsunami refuge and community center with a lovely cafe and a restaurant with some of the freshest and nicest food on our trip .The architecture is fabulous and there is even a footbath acing the sea.Guest review byMichelleNew Zealand - 10.0

There is a more to explore here than we realized. Apart from hiking up hills for great views, we did not budget enough time for more sight-seeing. We had wanted to visit a wasabi farm but wound up at a wasabi market which was really cool with lots of wasabi based products - that was an experience in itself. It was a lovely small town, a welcome change from busy cities crowded with tourists. Very relaxing, beautiful hot springs in the middle of town, a charming temple and shrine surrounded by huge cedar trees. We stayed twi nights and really enjoyed it. From Shuzenji station you can take bus to a viewing area where if the weather conditions are right you can view Mt Fuji.Guest review byCynthia

The first day there was a typhoon, but afterwards the weather cleared up and I could enjoy a stunning view of Mount Fuji from both my room and the open-air onsen. The hotel itself is refined and elegant: very spacious rooms, a super comfortable bed, excellent high-quality food, and staff who are always attentive and helpful. One of my friends forgot his ear-pods in the room and we had left Izu. The hotel staff quickly helped to send the ear-pods to our new hotel. Good view at the mountain and the stream from the room window. 4 private onsens for reservation and 1 public one. The futons are comfortable for sleep.
