During our pilgrimage along the 88 Temples Trail, staying at JR Clement Uwajima was one of the most pleasant and revitalizing experiences we had. Before facing a challenging 30 km stage, we treated ourselves to a stay here — and it couldn’t have been better. I’ve worked in hospitality for over ten years and rarely have I found such kind, thoughtful, and professional staff. The services offered are truly outstanding: free happy hour, 24-hour coffee and drinks, a smoking area on every floor, vending machines, microwaves, and beautiful, well-curated amenities. The room was extremely comfortable, with a great bed and a spacious, modern shower. You can feel the attention to detail and the guest’s well-being. Also, the location is strategic, perfect for exploring the area. My sincerest compliments to the hotel manager and the entire staff: a wonderful example of Japanese hospitality.

One of our best stays in Japan. We regretted not checking in earlier and staying longer. The house is incredible. It is so moody, quaint, and amazing decorated. Really spacious and plenty of ammenties. It is even bigger than we anticipated. We loved the smaller cosy rooms to the side. Especially the room with the record player. The location is the cherry on the cake as it is so tranquil The owner of the places is incredibly kind and recommened us to a restaurant in town. She even called a taxi for us. She also speaks really good English. One day, we'll be back and hoping to stay longer. It is a perfect place to relax off the beaten path in a typical non touristy village.

10/10 – Exceptional hospitality and unforgettable stay This was by far the warmest and most welcoming place we stayed during our entire road trip through Shikoku. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and their kindness made a real difference – especially when we had unexpected trouble with our rental car (they helped us without hesitation!).

Perfect place for cyclist, but also for any type of tourist. The place was very clean with brand new facilities, quiet, and has lots of things to play such as table tennis, video games. One of the best thing is that BBQ grill is free to use. also, there is a big supermarket nearby.

Such cool hosts, I even did the washing scrubbed the scuff marks off their kitchen floor, took out all the garbage to their garage, left it sparkling for them because it's hard trying to do that with a 1 year old ♥️😎❤️🙏

We overnighted here while exploring Shikoku by car. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful given our poor Japanese. The room was large with a nice view over the river. There are several restaurants nearby. The hotel has male and female onsen and a large heated pool. We opted for breakfast which was Japanese style and excellent. Would make a great base to stay for a few days to explore the region, lots to see.
