Spectacular view of the river, mountains, and fall foliage. Incredible food! I did not realize the half board would would be fine dining, I was very impressed. Great wine selection, the Chablis was very nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Convenient shuttle service. Excellent value!

The hosts were amazing!!!! Had my name on the sign as we drove up. I requested to change accommodation because the photo on the app was not what we got (my fault not theirs) they accommodated me with no problem. Best house and best host ever! Zack, the host, helped us everything starting from booking a restaurant, contacting ski school and preparing everything in the house. We were surprised when we opened the fridge and found everything is well prepared. (Milk, yogurt, butter, jam, eggs, fruits, ice cream, ice and even a frozen beer glass in the fridge.) Also he prepared rice, noodles, snacks, chocolates, tea, coffee and etc. Everything mentioned is free of charge! Another thing that we like is the dish washing service, the host offer to do the dishes by just put dirty dishes in the service area and they will clean and put it back in the service area later. Although the host lives nearby and helps us a lot, we still feel private and comfortable. Thank you so much Zack, we do appreciated your action! This house has 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 4 toilets. Very spacious! We will definitely come back! 10 out of 10! Do not hesitate to book this house!

It was a lovely place to visit!

It was a lovely place to visit! We climbed up to the Tenjin observation deck from the trail that begins behind a small shrine. It’s a challenging climb but well-marked and there are ropes the whole way to help pull yourself up tricky parts. We ate at the little Italian restaurant near Tanigawa Lodge and Coffee Roastery which I highly recommend, the pasta is great and they make homemade plum wine. I wish I could have done one more day to enjoy the onsens too.

While waiting for the shuttle bus to pick us up in Jomo Kogen, we got suggestion from the lady officer in Information Center to visit Tsukiyono garden. We came in mid April 2025 and there are still a lot of sakura. whereever you shoot your camera, the result of the photo is amazing. there is also a small grocery that serve udon/ramen as well. I bought a watermelon in that grocery and the lady in Udon stall lend me her knife to cut it. the watermelon is very small, compared to what I used to eat in Indonesia, but this minakami watermelon is very juicy and its flesh is so thick yet tender.

Amazing picturesque location!

Amazing picturesque location! Mineral water was natural and wonderful. Be prepared to sleep on a futon on the floor, but other than that very comfortable. People are very nice anyways in Japan, but the staff here was particularly helpful and accommodating. Free shuttle bus from Jomo-Kogen was a real plus which enabled us to get there from Tokyo via Shinkansen. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Thank you super nice lady at the front desk who greeting me upon arrival and during all my stay which make me feel welcome. The mountain view of the outdoor onsen, the snow falling down, was incredible. Very good food quality and hospitality of serving staff. Disliked · No access to snow area in the hotel

Great place for skiing.

Great place for skiing. We tried Houdaigi Ski area and Minakami kogen200 ski resort. Both were excellent. Houdaigi is just a ski area with a restaurant and gift shops. The ski slopes are good. Minakami kogen200 is a hotel with attached ski area, which makes it a ski resort I guess. It's hard to find vegetarian or vegan food in these areas though.

It is such a beautiful, unique location up in the mountains. It's very old and the outdoor baths offer amazing views of nature with little obstruction. The room I stayed in was very traditional style and it made me feel like a 1600's Japanese lord at some times. The staff were very friendly and welcoming as you would expect from all Japanese services. The river running through the entire hotel and outdoor onsen is the winning feature, and can be seen from many bedrooms.

The hotel was perfect in every way. The room was huge, the bed was so comfy, the bathroom was practical and pristine. We even had our own Onsen bath on the balcony. We had a stunning view over the river. The staff were so helpful and kind. I will come back here next time I’m in Japan. The main public onsen was incredible, clean, modern. Just a wonderful hotel.

Overall, an amazing experience with awesome hospitality and flavorful kaiseki meals. Easily accessible with provided shuttle service for pick up and drop off at Minakami station. The view in the lobby is like a painting. I really wish I were here when it was full of snow or during the blossom season.
