The room is surprisingly big and well equipped. Massage chair, microvawe, AC, hair dryer, fridge, huge TV, kettle, bathroom with towels, cups... You can take a free toothbrush, bubble towel, hairbrush, cotton stick. The duvet is fuwa fuwa (soft, thick but light).you also get a free frozen meal which you can heat up. Amazing experience. Beautiful traditional Japanese house in a small town in the middle of the mountains. Every house item is crazy cool and beautiful. The owner has thousands of good records and will do a selection for you. Bed are comfortable. The level of attention to every single detail - from lighting to coffee or snacks - is beyond everything I have experienced. My only regret is not to have stayed longer to chat a bit more with Takashi - the music passionate who has the house and the amazing little cafe next door - to get to know him better. For sure a super interesting and lovely host!

This was the perfect introduction to Japanese culture for us. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They taught us how to dress in the traditional Japanese clothes, helped us with information on the Nakasendo walk, and provided beautiful meals. We were picked up from Nakatsugawa Station and taken to the accommodation, and the following morning they also drove us to Magome to start our Nakasendo walk. They even transported our bag to Nagiso for us. The service from the staff was exceptional. The chef Masaya Yoshida made us beautiful meals for dinner and breakfast. The rooms are traditional Japanese houses with a lot of space, separate rooms for sleeping and dining and private bathrooms in the houses as well as the public onsen. The houses are in beautiful gardens and the rooms have lovely views of the grounds. It is very peaceful and quiet, outside of the main township. This was a fantastic place to stay, and a great Japanese cultural experience.
