As part of my Gunma trip, I wanted to stay at a hotel with an open-air private onsen! I took a risk booking this one because, at the time of my research, there weren’t many photos available. The website only featured beautiful sketches of the rooms and layouts. I later discovered that the hotel was very new—less than a month old! Enticed by the promise of a serene open-air bath, I went ahead with the reservation. When the day arrived, check-in was smooth and easy. I forgot to get the concierge’s name, but he was incredibly friendly, and I appreciated his effort to speak English with us. When we were shown to our room, it was breathtaking. The view outside was spectacular, like a painting brought to life. Light snow was falling, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The private onsen? Absolutely top-notch—chef’s kiss! Breakfast the next morning was superb, and all the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you so much for this amazing experience. This was undoubtedly one of the best accommodations I’ve stayed at in Japan. I sincerely hope the hotel continues to do well because I can’t wait to come back next time. This was for sure our favorite stay in Japan. What a place. It’s magical, the room is beautiful, the onsen is just amazing, waking up in the morning to watch the snow fall was incredible. We only spent one night there but left with the desire to stay longer.

The food we had during our stay was beyond my expectations. I can be picky sometimes so I thought there would be a couple things I wouldn't eat but I devoured it all. Every single dish was so delicious and I still think about my meals there. We stayed in the kashotei and our room was clean and spacious. We were also given a yukata and a set of pajamas, along with baskets and towels for the onsen. I was glad to have different options. Since we stayed in the kashotei, we were allowed access to a lounge in the sanso. We definitely took advantage of the free ice cream but they also had coffee, tea, and cookies stocked up. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The waters were healing and I loved being able to soak in the outdoor onsen in the rain. It was magical.

Exceptional hospitality and service at this ryokan. Fairly easy to find and access the bus. The meals and breakfasts were perfect and they give you a wide array of food based on your choice. The rooms were of traditional Japanese style and the whole place was clean. The private onsens were spot on and amazing to relax in while looking up at the mountains and easy to access.

Beautiful property next to the river with a small waterfall. Onsen overlooks the river. The female owner takes a lot of pride in decorating the hotel and read story at night to the guests. I have no idea what the story is about but I enjoy listening to her pouring out her heart telling the story. The traditional breakfast and dinner were delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.
