Odate is the birthplace of the famous loyal dog Hachi.
Odate is the birthplace of the famous loyal dog Hachi. There're several tourist attractions connected to Akida dogs/ Hachi. Other than that, there's not so much to see within Odate itself, but I rented a car and was able to explore the surrounding areas by car. I also travelled to Hirosaki by train from Odate station, but as the trains are not very frequent, you need to check the timetable before travel.
