Really enjoyed the free activities such as the bonfire and marshmallow event. The pearl spa experience and the natural fruit juice was very enjoyable. Hotel staff was amazingly helpful and courteous and even reminded me that my light in the car was left on. The postal service is a really nice touch which allowed us to send post cards that we purchased in our travels. There were even little snacks and green tea representing the local area Ise's foods completely free! There was even a torch for night walking.

This B&B is very pretty with beautiful furniture, artwork, and views. Well maintained old building. The room is huge. The twin room I booked included a tatami room with TV, separate toilet and bath areas. Bed was comfortable and clean. View from the room was the wooded area of the property and it was very relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and filling (bread is baked on site) and served according to my preferred time. Coffee and tea are readily available at the social space/dining area. Drinks are also available to buy. Takuma at reception was very helpful and spoke English sharing stories about the B&B and facilitating my request for a taxi to the train station after check-out. They are very responsive on booking.com message app and informed me that they usually have a shuttle service to the train stations but that the driver was not available during that time. They reduced my fee to consider the hassle of access. Great service.

Renovated rooms were very big and nicely done. Beds were comfortable. The Onsen was exceptional, breakfast buffet also great. The daily lounge and free afternoon tea was amazing. There is also an indoor kids club area which is open from 7am for young kids, a playground outside as well, was a great hotel for young children

We were welcome by a kind Japanese man who showed helped us check in. This was a minimalistic approach to managing a business hotel, and it seems to work. The bare minimal amount of facilities, to come have a shower and sleep comfortably, have been provided, at a very low price compared to other offerings. Note that we were four motorcyclists, and we're used to minimal to zero luxury, and this was exactly what we were expecting and it was not disappointing at all. Overall good value for money with a good location. Good restaurants are a few minutes away, a station and a convenience store right across the road.

    Shima is more rural Japan, and there is many nice scenerie..

    Shima is more rural Japan, and there is many nice scenerie.. There is even very nice surf beach (Kou Shirahama), where i have visited many times. Best in summer/autumn for surfing, but beatiful all year round.. You can rent boards for example from Le Ba Surf. Pearl road is good to drive with scenic spots and Anori and Daio has few lighthouses with stunning views. Also if you like pearls, there is a lot of pearl industey around and you can buy pearl jewelries etc. You absolutely need a car to get around properly, it is rural, and access to most places is just by car.

    It was Ocean`s Day long weekend, granted it was still rainy...

    It was Ocean`s Day long weekend, granted it was still rainy season, but there seemed to be nobody in town. I had the swimming beach to myself (but the showers had already closed by 5 PM) There seemed to be no tourists or tourist shops nearby. It felt like a ghost town with all the derelict hotels. I wish it had more of a beach resort vibe with little shops nearby. The seafood was excellent at our hotel. (Shima = fishing town, not so much a resort town). If the sky were clear, I bet you could see the stars well from Shima.

    The hotel was within easy reach of Ugata train station which...

    The hotel was within easy reach of Ugata train station which allowed us to transport easily around the area. if using the train purchase a Kintetsu five day pass for approx £20 each and you can use all the Local and Express services but will need to pay extra for the Limited Express service.

    It is my first time to Kashikojima and I like the quiet ciry. I took railway to the city and went to the hotel by free shuttle bus service. I enjoyed a very quiet and comfortable journey there. I liked the hot spring and room service very much. Even my Japanese is not very good but they will help you. It is not a very big hotel but with a lot of staff from different countries and you will meet someone speaks your languge...(smile)

    The view, the staff, the style, the rotenburo (open-air bath on the rooftop. It is used by man/women on alternate days). the breakfast. The rooms are simple, and old, the hotel is not shiny and luxutious, but it represents the local Japanese atmosphere and tradition. The staff was so kind!
