Everything. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms were clean and well equipped. The facilities were good, but the onsen (particularly the outdoor section) was magical. The breakfasts were excellent. The staff were incredibly welcoming and were friendly and helpful at all times.

Perfect hosts, they are so accommodating and kind. They made recommendations about everything I asked, made sure the stay was comfortable and even went above and beyond for me so I can better experience the area (like giving me towels even after I checked out) I highly recommend this place if you’re in Zao Onsen! Will definitely stay again when I’m back.

Hands down best breakfast buffet I've had at a hotel stay. The food was fresh and gourmet with plenty of varieties. The location of the lodge was right on the ski slopes, so it was a true ski in ski out experience. The staff here work around the clock to make the stay comfortable for their guests. They even picked us up on a ski cat on the first day after getting off the gondola to get there.
