Our stay was really perfect. The hotel was one of the cleanest we had in Sri Lanka, the pool is awesome and invites for relaxed hours. The room and its equipment was also impeccable. We spontaneously prolonged our stay for one more night because we just loved it. Tharindu and the rest of the staff were super attentive and fulfilled every wish. The restaurant was also yummy and the prices were reasonable. They even gave us a free bottle of water for the onward journey. The organization of the full day safari was easy and we got to see elephants and leopards with our guide Dinuka. The guide was also very good as he was very experienced (one time he predicted the exact point of a leopard crossing the road). All in all: If we ever come back to Tissimaharama, we will definitely stay there again!

I will give this a 10/10 out of how much the owner provided for me. The view outside is amazing, just in front of the lake. So peaceful! So the room was okay. But the best thing for me was that the owner provided me a free tour around the place, watching sunset, crocodiles, bats and owls. He also took me to the atm, supermarket, and picked me up from the bus when arriving. Everything for free. And I can also recommend going with the safari that he is providing. That guide was also amazing, experienced, and affordable.

I can’t recommend it more 😊 Nalin will do everything to make your stay better He is always trying to add more value to your stay offering new activities, recommendations and experiences He arranged a dinner in the jungle where I could cook rotti with the locals and even spot some crocodiles and elephants!! Our stay with Randy and his delightful family was absolutely fabulous. The room was very large, spacious and comfortable, and beautifully clean. The food Randy's wife made for us was really delicious, and healthy too. We enjoyed lots of exotic fruits we had not tried before, most of which came from their garden. Randy went above and beyond any expectations we could possibly have. He took us on a tour of the lake and village, and pointed out lots of amazing wildlife, including toucans, turtles, and monitor lizards. The whole family were lovely, including Randy's wife and little girl. Elegant Lake House is a perfect place to stay. There is nothing else to say. Thank you very much, Randy and family.

The host is really friendly and nice. She met us and explained everything about the room, and gave us some fresh pineapple juice as a welcome drink. The room itself was clean and comfortable with a nice huge balcony. The price meets the quality. :)

We were very warmly welcomed by the staff. Very clean room and bathroom. The staff is very kind and friendly. We were given a short trip by the lake in the evening to see the wilderness and bats. The lunch and dinner can be served a la carte. The food prepared at their restaurant is delicious. The safari was very well organised and coordinated. At the end of safari we were picked up and dropped to the bus station. Strongly recommend this resort for those who love the nature.

Our host went above and beyond to make our stay as memorable as possible. She organised our transfers, the safari and even a cooking class free of charge. We had told her in an email we were celebrating our engagement and she prepared a speacial cake and everything. This was the best place we stayed in sri lanka lanka including the 5 star resorts.

Very helpful staff, he arranged a full day safari. He kept offering me tea or coffee, even at 4 am before leaving to the safari. Location is nice just next to a beautiful lake with lots of birds. I would definitely recommend.
