Highly recommend this place! The location is great, only couple hundred meters from the railway station and half an hour drive to the Horton Plains. The hosts are super super friendly and helpful, truly making us feel at home. Dinner is wonderful. Breakfast can be packed for taking away. Room is clean and comfy. Really want to stay longer.

One of our holiday highlights. We stayed in the upper apartment “Silver Tips” which was very modern and clean. And the view was amazing, even from the shower! Super friendly staff and amazing food: For dinner we got tasty rice and curry and for breakfast delicious egg-hoppers while overviewing the tea fields and mountaintops around. This accommodation is very close on the Pekoe Trail that we walked, we stayed only one night but we would have loved to stay longer… The area offers a lot of great hikes and magical tranquility far from touristy zones. They serve their own tea from the plantation which has organic quality, all grown naturally.

That’s the best hostel we stayed in Sri Lanka 😊 They organised us a tuk tuk to go to Horton plains for a very reasonable price and you can also eat in the hostel, they serve a big buffet that it’s impossible to finish. The terrace is a nice place to chill and there is birds, lizards and monkeys around. They also very nice family with a friendly dog.

We visited Horton Plains and were looking for a place that felt safe, peaceful, and like home — and Tea Sprig Villa Boralanda was the perfect find! This is one of the newest and safest villas in the area, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We stayed for 2 nights, and what made this place even more special is that we were their very first guests — what an honor! 🙏 The family running the villa is super friendly, warm, and caring. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and made with so much love. The clean fresh air, hot water, and beautiful surroundings made us feel like we were in heaven. We stayed with Meena Amma for three short days, and wished we had longer. Meena’s hospitality is note perfect, and her traditional Sri Lankan meals the best we have enjoyed in our time on the island. The setting of the two line rooms is stunning, from the beautiful sunrises to the peaceful evenings in the valley. We stayed here on our way to Ella whilst on a cycle tour. We had an exceptionally warm welcome and were given a fabulous meal in the evening - the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka (and there’s been plenty!). It’s a lovely peaceful spot and there was plenty of wildlife to see from the terrace.

    Almost everything.

    Almost everything. Location was close to Horton Plains and the owners arranged a tuk tuk ride for a nominal fee. Lovely surrounding. Food was tasty and ample given. Really worth it. Owners were friendly and made the guests feel at home.

    Even though the communication with the host was a bit difficult, he really tried it's best to make it as comfortable for us as possible. Keep in mind that the place is quite far away from everything, so don't expect any miracles or fancy hotel-suff for this budget. We really enjoyed the place and would have stayed longer if we had the time (and a different internet-provider).

    Where to start! This was the best stay we have had in Sri Lanka. Mahinda and Mathu are the loveliest hosts and family. Their food was the best we have had and we were full from sunrise to sunset. They packed us a beautiful breakfast to enjoy at Horton Plains, which they helped arrange a tuk tuk for. I highly recommend adding Ohiya as a stop on the way!!!

    The main employer cooks the best food in all of sri lanka! I already miss the delicious rice and curry! It was clean and a friendly environment. You live a little of shore but very close to the train station. That is very practical.
