The place is a real hidden gem in Tangalle. We loved the pool and the vibes of the place. Everyone was extremely friendly and smiling all the time. The food in the hotel's restaurant is amazing. Our room was exactly like in the pictures, we chose the one with a sofa in the balcony so that we can chill outside. The room was light, full of sunshine and great decoration. There was also a fridge and a hairdryer, which is absolutely a plus. Johan and his team made our stay unforgettable, they assisted with organizing programs and transport.

Fantastic new clean resort with friendly owners, pleasant stuff and excellent cuisine. I appreciate excellent massage just after coming and lot of variable activities. The villa was spacious, the ocean nearby. I sure come back soon again. One of my the best stay.

This place was simply the best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka. The hosts were so welcoming and caring. Early check in and late check out was not a problem. The breakfast was perfect Srilankan breakfast, homemade of course.

Such a unique stay in the heart of the village. The house was so comfortable and secluded and the owner attentive and also appreciative of giving us our space. Nothing was to much trouble. The breathtaking local beach and the baby turtles were an unexpected highlight as was the sunrise kayak on the local lagoon. It was one night but memories that will stay for a lifetime.

Very nice place with stylish interior. Beautiful swimming pool, sports area. The hotel staff are very nice, friendly, always ready to help. I would like to note that the hotel is trying to be eco-friendly. This does not concern all the details yet, but they are on the right way. We would be happy to come back here again. I give it 5/5

We had the most magical stay in Villa Blu. Mr. Kamal was extremely friendly and had a wide knowledge about Sri Lanka, it was a delight to speak to him about it. Also Lakmal, Mithun en Lansantha did everything to make the stay perfect. They put on some belgian songs especially for us, they made us complimentary ice tea (which was really good) and they even put a table for two under the stars for dinner. The meals were delicious and the room was stylish and clean. Mr. Kamal proposed to do the birthwatching tour with sunset, this was incredibly beautiful and a must-do when you’re here. Would highly recommend staying here to have a calm and quiet time, far away from the busy tourist places!

    The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

    Tangalle is a mix of typical large commercial local Sri Lankan town buzz combined with touristy beach / restaurant / bar area. Very laid back along that 'strip', many bars and restaurants vying for business so you can be selective.

    Perfect place to relax by the beaches, some of them are like or similar a near private beach type; but, difficult to swim. Generally, the waves and current are rough and sometime dangerous to rocky beaches; in early morning time, 9-10 am, waves and current can be managed to some extent....

    It’s more of a local sleepy town and less touristy than the rest of the south coast. Lots of great beaches and family run restaurants. I could have easily used it as a base and stayed longer had the weather been better.

    Tangalle is a hidden gem!

    Tangalle is a hidden gem! So many wonderful beaches around the town. I stayed by the Goyambokka beach but preferred the neighbouring Silent beach, which was longer and so beautiful. I had dinner at neighbouring South Sea Pearl Beach restaurant, which served amazingly delicious food.

    The town has very little to offer.

    The town has very little to offer. It’s a noisy, chaotic typical Sri Lankan town. The only redeeming factor was Silent Beach on the Western side of town. We also enjoyed a nice meal at Cactus Lounge.

    The quality of the offering was excellent from the facilities, staff through to the food was beyond my expectations. On site add-ons such as massage and laundry service was provided too, for a small 6 bedroomed hotel that was excellent. Super place for a total chill to savour Sri Lankan hospitality at its best. Thanks to Dinuka and team for an amazing stay, even the unexpected downpours could not dampen my spirits at Coco Tangalle. I travel to Sri Lanka often, this one is going to be a repeat.

    The owner and everyone at shine wave are very friendly and caring. The area around the hotel is very quiet and the beach is beautiful. We also saw turtles. There are very good restaurants around as well. If you like it quiet, you will love shine wave. Also the rooms are very new and comfortable. Breakfast was good, too. Shine wave was one of the best placed we stayed at during our travel through Sri Lanka.

    We travelled with friends and we stayed in 2 different hotels. The hotel was amazing at organising diners in the villa. The staff makes you feel like home and is absolutely fantastic! The beach is beautiful, garden is very well kept. Perfect if you want to relax on the beach after a busy week discovering Sri Lanka!

    It was out best hotel in Sri Lanka. The Ukrainian couple that owns the place is super kind and helpful. The hotel is super clean and they care about every detail. The beach is stunning and idyllic. We will definitely come back here
