This was the perfect stop after hiking Stage 3 of the Pekoe Trail. It is right next to the Trail before town. The view is fantastic, it is quiet and an ideal place to relax and recover. We had a hot shower and a good night of sleep in the comfy bed. Prosper is your host and a true gem. He will make you feel at home immediately. He helped us having food delivered to the Homestay, made us some tea and a nice breakfast in the morning and organized a tour on the nearby tea farm.

What a beautiful gem! We were cancelled last minute by another accommodation, so we found this by accident... and we couldn't have been more happy! The view was incredible and you really have a whole big area at the very top of access to the mountain and beautifully manicured lawn to yourself to admire the huge valley and dam below. The owner was incredibly kind to let us come without much time to prepare. His generosity extends further, he has made the initiative to allow food orders (done through an online app!) that is made by a single mother of two. The meals are delicious and very fairly priced. The accomodation itself is very neat, clean and comfortable. Everything works and great care has been taken to keep it in good condition. Had we known, we would have most certainly stayed longer because it's not just bare minimum self-catering, rather the care of providing all sorts of cooking accompaniments like oil and spices, labeling all the cupboards so that things are easy to find, a large fridge/freezer and all amenities you would need including a BBQ are provided. You could quite possibly just spend a week up there all to yourself. It's situated next to the second half of the 3rd stage of the Pekoe trail, so we walked some of it in reverse in the morning. We were welcome to walk anywhere, so this walk in particular we were delighted with the sights of tea plantations and beautiful forests we got to experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone walking the Pekoe trail! What a dream, we only wish we had more time to stay. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality.

we spent an amazing weekend at this place. The staff prepared a very nice room for us with decorations and fruits in honor of our honeymoon. The atmosphere in this place is amazing! Very beautiful estate with magnificent stylish renovation and interior. The chef is very cool, all the dishes were incredibly tasty. We wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful place!

We had the most unforgettable stay at The Lavender House in Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views all around—truly a piece of paradise. We were welcomed with a wonderful surprise: a room upgrade to what felt like a private, luxurious villa. The space was unbelievably spacious and beautifully designed, offering total comfort and privacy. As we were celebrating our honeymoon, the staff went above and beyond to make it special with lovely welcome snacks and a room decorated with such thoughtful detail—it meant so much to us. Our personal butler was exceptional—attentive, kind, and always ready to help with anything we needed. One of the highlights of our stay was a scenic tour organized for us, and they even packed a delicious lunch box, which was such a considerate touch. Staff was extremely friendly. The hotel is surrounded by gorgeous tea plantations and has a scenic view. Rooms were clean and spacious. The bathroom was very clean. The food was extremely delicious. There is a restaurant in the hotel so lunch/dinner is provided on request. Tea/coffee is provided anytime of the day upon request. The hotel is located about 30 minutes away from Nuwara Eliya town, but you can hire tuktuk or use public transport to reach the hotel. It's located on the main road itself. Friendly Hills Hotel is great for a vacation with family and friends. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a great place to stay in Nuwara Eliya.

We stayed at Thuruliya Hotel for one night and loved it. The hotel has incredible views, and we enjoyed seeing the waterfalls and tea fields on the way from Nanu Oya station. The staff were very kind, and the restaurant offered a wide variety of dishes.

The hotel is of course old, but the team is excellent - the rooms are renovated, the plumbing and bathroom are new and comfortable, there is hot water. The Windows overlook the road, but the view is of the mountains and greenery. The noise from the road is not audible if you close the windows. Breakfasts and dinners are super delicious. You can also order lunches. A wonderful woman cooks, you can warn about your preferences in advance - in general, all questions and wishes can be quickly and clearly resolved through Farvees (Operations Coordinator). The rooms are spacious, there is everything you need and an electric kettle and tea. Around the mountains, waterfalls and tea plantations factories, temples - we specially returned to these places after a trip to Noir Elia and Ella. The hotel itself has a lot of common comfortable spaces in the fresh air and under the roof - you can be alone or gather a company at the table, we used free billiards for guests. Special thanks to the Beautiful Shiva for an interesting and informative tour. The hotel has a good natural cosmetics and tea shop.

    Prosper, our host, is a very special person and really made...

    Prosper, our host, is a very special person and really made this home stay very special. The view was spectacular and the tea factory tour was well worth a visit. It is an old plantation which still uses traditional methods. We had a free tour which included tea tasting and picking the leaves. You need to go out to eat so we went to Tea Bush Hotel which was about 2km away. We took Prosper too 😀
