Just everything. Really nice apartment, specially equipped for western turists, with hair dryer, toilet brush, drinking water, big room and bathroom, with big patio in front of the room, plus swimming pool. What else can you wish more. It was the best experience during my trip in Sri Lanka. Big bonus was also Janaka, resort manager who organized Safari in Yala for us.

Excellent, exceptional care, near beautiful lake, where you can watch the birds, owner is very helpful, they also cook there. Short walk to town, small shop on the corner. Internet working well. They book you Safari tour so you do not have to worry about anything. Nice open space common area.

This hotel was amazing. Nice and clean room with a pleasant smell. Very nice family. From the time we arrived till we left you feel so comfortable with them , make you feel like you are at home. A nice and fresh watermelon juice on arrival as a welcome drink .The food was delicious. They offer bicycles for free and let us use the washing machine.The organised safari was amazing. He also organised a tuktuk for us to take us to the bus stop to continue our next destination for Ella after morning safari. We recommend this accommodation.

If you are looking for place where you will feel like home away, this is it! This family is incredible, and I honestly wish more people would be like them. On top of that food is great (they provided fully vegan breakfast for me), room is huge and super clean. Don't think twice stay here.

The view was wonderful. You can see from the terrace the Debarawewa lake with its wild life (water buffalos, lots of birds and sometimes crocodiles). The hosts were very nice and attentive to our needs. I also enjoyed the tasty food. The host also arranged the safari and I was picked up directly from the accommodation. I didn't have to worry about anything. The room was clean and had air conditioning.

Everything. The host was great. He helped us arrange the transport from Ella with a very fair price. We did the safari with them, it was great, nice price, amazing breakfast-box. Lunch with them was amazing too,dinner is home made rice and curry tasty. and he dropped us in the mirissa. great taxy service.Room was big, clean, very confortable and with everything we needed it. I normally don't say this, but there was nothing that could be improved. Just perfect. The best place to be happy in the environment.being in a place like this is a great achievement .Best host in our whole Sri Lanka trip i highly recommend village mango resort .

We stayed here for 2 nights to do a safari in Yala and it was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend and it's fantastic value for money! The property is beautifully decorated and spotless throughout, with excellent bathroom facilities, good AC, and the highlight for us was our balcony overlooking the river - the perfect place to chill out and watch the animals, as well as eat the delicious home cooked meals available (I wouldn't bother eating out, the food is cheaper and much better at the hotel). Mithila and her husband were fantastic hosts and ensured everything was organised for our stay. They even helped us arrange our transport to our next location and gave us a lift to the bus stop, ensuring we got on the right bus. I'd also recommend booking your safari with them. We booked a full days private safari in Yala national park with their safari company at a very reasonable cost for a high quality service.

It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences.     The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

    This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. The local town is not a tourist town but it's great to wander around looking in the local shops.

    We were there the first time for safari.

    We were there the first time for safari. We had a tour to the Buddha by the sea…amazing. This time we were passing through on our way to Ella. We ate at Red Pizza which was just as good second time round.

    Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari. Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear. Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2. Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck. So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive. Basically disappointed ☹️

    Basic rooms but clean and good value. What was very valuable to us, was that the super cheerful host Mithi helped a lot with organizing things: transfer from Tangalle to Tissa, from Tissa to Ella, visit to Bundala NP and to Yala NP, all for fair prices. In particular, the communication about these arrangements with Mithi was swift and clear (which isn't always the case when trying to arrange things upfront with others in Sri Lanka). Also, they were happy to help out with free transport between town and hotel.

    The hotel is in a beautiful quiet location near the rice fields. It’s about a 10 minute walk to town which we didn’t mind. The owner organized a great safari for us and helped us a lot with using the public transport in Sri Lanka because there is very little information online. We also went to a really cool bat place the owner told us about. Also, I think the town of Tissa is a bit overlooked - it’s worth visiting even if you’re not going to do a safari

    The food at this hotel is absolutely delicious. It was a highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. They even arranged a safari for us, which was an incredible experience. There's a large lake nearby, currently brimming with water, so it's not advisable to swim due to the presence of crocodiles. However, the expansive garden offers a great place to relax and enjoy your time at the hotel.

    The rooms are incredibly beautiful and spacious, the beds are good, the surroundings are peaceful and gorgeous. And the food is the best we had in all Sri Lanka! They also arranged for a safari for us and de had the greatest experience for a cheaper price then on all the websites. You can visit this hotel without hesitation!

    It was the best hotel we stayed in so far in sri lanka. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable. Overall the hotel looked really nice with a nice pool. We would definitely recommend everyone to stay here
