Interesting town with souks and a historical setting where Ali Baba the original film was shot . A local man attached himself to us and ended up giving an informal guided tour. The restaurant we had a lunch was tasty and not expensive. Taroudant is one of the most beautiful towns in Morocco.
Taroudant is one of the most beautiful towns in Morocco. Also we visited the Palais Claudio Bravo palace 13 km north of Taroudant. Home of chilean hyperrealist artist Claudio Bravo which since his death, his home has become a hotel and museum where you can book tours. I found it difficult to find any info on it prior to our trip and thought it may have closed down so I was delighted when the hotel staff said it was open and arranged for us to have a tour. We stayed for 3 nights, mainly to relax, there isn't a huge amount to do so you can do 1 night and a day to explore the walls. If you have a nice riad and are happy to relax in the sun, this is also a good spot to do so. Although there isn't a huge variety in places to eat lunch. excellent except for the street traffic with every form of vehicle weaving in and out of pedestrians. However - I can't see anyway of preventing it. I think it's a worldwide city problem with the quick e-scoters, mopeds etc.Guest review byallen

You have to contact the host in advance and he will pick you up at the meeting point (which was an old closed hotel in our case) to take you to the apartment. Rooms were big enough and breakfast was exceptional on the roof terrace. Host was very friendly and even showed us the souks. Parking was right in front of the riad.
