    I was visiting friends which made my experience different from if I had visited without purpose. Cahul is pretty and is walkable, but there is little in the way of tourism. There are many restaurants and coffee shops. There is a regional museum with dedicated docents and a good curator. There are recreational opportunities outside of the city. Renting a car is suggested. Cahul is a quiet, good-value city to consider as a base to explore the region.
