I had a fantastic stay at San gwann The apartment was exceptionally clean upon arrival, and I was very impressed with the amenities provided. It truly felt like a home away from home, as it was well-equipped with everything I needed for my stay. The location was also incredibly convenient, with shops just a short walk away. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting the area.

I had an exceptional stay at this holiday flat. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by its cleanliness and convenience. With multiple bus stations nearby and a grocery store just a short walk away, the location couldn't have been better. But what truly sets this place apart is the hospitality of the host, Paul, and his daughter. When I fell ill during my stay, they went above and beyond to take care of me. They came over in the middle of the night to assist me, taking me to the doctor, cleaning for me, and even providing groceries and medicine. Their kindness and thoughtfulness were truly touching. Throughout my stay, Paul and his daughter continued to check in on me, ensuring I was comfortable. Despite their generosity, they always respected my privacy and reassured me that I could reach out if I needed anything. The flat itself is well-equipped with adapters for various plugs and a range of hygiene articles, from shampoo to sun protection. The abundance of clean bed sheets and a hair dryer made my stay even more comfortable. Overall, I am immensely grateful for the hospitality I received and would not hesitate to book this flat again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

Traveled with my son, 4 years old. We stayed in a cozy quiet room on the first floor. The lobby is very nice and clean. There are two large aquariums, flowers. On the fifth floor served a delicious breakfast. Very nice experience of staying in this hostel. A special thanks and a big hello from Russia to the owner Rado. Would love to come again somehow! Located on a dead end street this new hotel is in Paceville (St Julian) near all the hustle and bustle but also close to the main road which connects St Julian to Valetta. Easy to be accessed and to be departed by car/taxi/foot. In a walking distance there're plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. We were upgraded to a room with balcony which was very clean and comfortable and had a great soundproofing. The king size bed & the pillows were very comfortable for us. The 40" flat smart tv including YouTube & Netflix streamed perfectly. Minifridge, safe, kettle and expresso machine are available in the minibar. There're plenty of plugs (UK type) including USB A and USB C near the bed. Excellent breakfast with a lot of options to choose from. During the day & evenings the breakfast area becomes Jumu restaurant which we definitely recommend especially in case you arrive late for check-in (good selection of Maltese and international vines and excellent service). Indoor spa area was very clean and well maintained includes a finish sauna, a 4 persons jacuzzi and a ~15 m/5 m indoor heated pool which is opened round the clock. A decent sized gym is also available in the same spa dedicated area. On the rooftop there's a second ~20m/7 m pool also heated with a great view over St Julian's downtown. The parking available in hotel's underground was great to leave our rented car since since around the hotel the parking places are limited.

    It is a nice city, close to the beach and to the capital (Valletta) of the country. It has a LIDL for the shopping. It has a big and beautiful church in the center, in front of a small but cute park for child. There are several places where you can go to eat, especially if you are gluten-free (Helu Manna Kafeteria). There is an Italian coffee bar, for those who likes to drink a very similar Italian coffee (Cafe Pinto).

    A reasonable quite area compared to the towns and city. Built up but not imposing. Fifteen minute bus ride into Valletta. Plenty of taxis to choose from using an App. Buses are cheap but unpredictable.

    San Gwann is in no way a tourist area so should not be judged by those criteria. It's a mixed suburb on the outskirts of Valetta and the 3 cities. There are some very smart areas in parts and the centre is a busy main road with humbler accommodation and a lot of small shops, grocers, chemist, bakers etc and an attractive church. It's nice when you're walking around, shopping or waiting for a bus to feel part of local Maltese life. The sea and harbours of the tourist areas are only a bus ride away. A couple of times I visited a tiny local bar where the customers and staff were really friendly to me and I really enjoyed chatting to them. They, like me, were mainly over 50s! Eating was quite difficult in the evenings. Having spent all day out and about I wanted to eat near my hotel. There was a vast choice of takeaways but only two eat-in possibilities. Nearest was a chain called Eeezyeats which sold 'healthy' food with no wine. I had a ghastly kale, chickpea and gristly chicken salad there and didn't go again. Okurama Asian Fusion was much better with great food and a very drinkable house wine. Being the only restaurant, of course, it was very popular and, on the Saturday night I couldn't even get a table for 1! It was always full but could usually fit me in. San Gwann is well served by buses which go all over the island. You need to really familiarise yourself with the timetables as some information and bus stop names can be confusing. It also helps in asking for info when you realise San Gwann is pronounced San Juan and 'xx' is pronounced 'sh'. It took me some time!
