As a person who does not like partying, I should have at least done an in depth research about the place because it was noisy at night especially with cars honking and revving and drunk people shouting. The promenade is the biggest pull, as straight away you feel that you are part of the flow. It lends itself to jogging, taking in the sea views, feeling like you are relaxing. St. Julian’s is a very lively area, full of restaurants, bars, and nightlife, and it’s well served by public transport. However, it really depends on what you’re looking for. I assume its a good place if you are single and you want to party and meet new people. For everybody else its a shallow place with nothing there to see, way too crowded during the night in high season with people that are half dressed, drunk and very vocal. During the day the smell is horrendous in some areas from last night's parties because of the trash and the vomit. It's a nice place with many shops, the beach and the museum nearby. Many facilities are within walking distance. Also the tourist bus passes through St Julians. If you like nightlife - a bunch of clubs are just a few steps away, however we weren't disturbed by the noise in our room. Bus stations also fairly close with good connection with the rest of Malta. We had a possibility of using outdoor pool and enjoyed a lot. Very close is Odissey which is a great recommendarion to learn more about history of Malta in a super exciting way - both for kids and adults.
